The restaurant is named after America’s most famous founding father, Benjamin Franklin. While he was pinnacle in America’s birth, he also became the first ambassador to France. While on trips to Paris, he would wine and dine with the best of them and when he returned, he would bring back the French culture, food and wine, and share it with our new nation. Dishes like Potato Lyonnaise and Crème Brulée were the first of his favorites he shared with America. The Benjamin reflects that bridged gap between the two countries’ cultures. The restaurant and bar is french-inspired, but uniquely American. It sits in Ridgefield's historic district in a 1875 house, but the interiors are modern, elegant and new. Chef prepares dishes like Mussels, Foie Gras, Shrimp Toast, Chicken, Halibut, Duck, and more.

We loved the new chef and the new menu. Enjoyed the evening very much. The guitar player and singer and the girl that served us in the 2nd floor was great. Suggestion: The pork chop was very very spicy, even for people that like spicy! 🌶️ Bring it down a notch…. it’s good advice.

Very good meal, excellent service. For a party of 11, we were able converse easily. Highly recommend.

Have been wanting to go here for a while so had high expectations! The curb appeal is amazing! You feel like you are walking up to an old charming estate. We were greeted warmly and immediately seated upstairs. In hindsight I would have preferred to sit on the main level but then I wouldn’t have had Miles as our waiter which was a highlight! The drinks

Went here for date night, the restaurant has great ambiance, our meal & drinks were great and staff was friendly & courteous. The halibut entree was cooked to perfection and one of the best halibut dishes I’ve had! Will definitely be returning!

The food was fantastic. I highly recommend the mussels, the burrata with beets, and the steak (aged to perfection). Service was equally as wonderful.

We have been here several times and really enjoy the food and ambiance! Everything is prepared very well and tastes amazing. Unfortunately, we brought our family from out of town here for a special occasion and the service was below average. Our server seemed frazzled and rude. In the middle of asking a question she walked away from us. She answered us when she returned but was very short. My family felt very offended as she was only speaking to me and not directing any answers toward others. We also ordered appetizers and they never came. Our food was delivered and we informed the sever the appetizers were no longer needed. Initially we were told “well the kitchen is already making them” but then she did have them compensated for us which we appreciated. Due to the service, we have given a lower rating than we normally would have.
