What brought down the experience was the service and menu options. Beautiful pub with a big outside section overlooking a pond with ducks so my toddler loved it and the ambience was great especially on a 27 degree summers day. However I had checked the website which had multiple sample menus including the main menu; Sunday menu and a kids menu. Thought this would be a great option as we booked for a birthday lunch with multiple food preferences including dairy and soya allergies. Turned out that on Sundays they only have the set menu of either 2 or 3 courses, most other places would still have their main menu as an option or at least you could chose to only have 1 course. Personally our family never eats more than one course going out and especially now with cost of living etc. It was a bit disappointing not to have options and to almost be forced to pay so much. The food was good (bar the Yorkshire puddings which were extremely oily) and they accommodated the allergies. Service was not good (bar the manager/owner who was trying his best to get to everyone, think he was working the hardest - we got checked on once during our meal otherwise every time we needed something we had to go find someone and they also forgot one of the desserts. I'll be back but likely only for a drink and snack (maybe) outside and I'll order from the bar.

Came for a Sunday Roast with family and as always it was absolutely incredible! Special mention to the lemon cheesecake and the Brakspear brownie sundae which were heavenly!

The most wonderful Sunday lunch! Went for a family Sunday lunch and loved the warm friendly environment and charming service. Great food, excellent wine list and overall experience. We will be back!!!

We were very happy with our meal last evening. Staff very attentive. The outside area is really attractive and the food was excellent. Good value for money: We will be back.

Incredible outdoor area to sit and relax. Food was exceptional and the service was impeccable. New favourite lunch spots.
