The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse is tucked away, and perfectly positioned on the most stunning part of the River Thames. The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

A warm welcome. Excellent service. The Sunday lunch was exceptional. Ben has created a venue that does not disappoint.

Beef amazing!!! Staff very very good!! Helpful attentive atmosphere fantastic service amazing setting gorgeous!!! The only one thing for us was the roasted potatoes were too cooked for our tastes but that’s a personal preference would I eat there again absolutely

I always love it here and have an excellent experience. Congratulations to the whole team who continue to make this my favourite place for a special occasion. If it was nearer I would be there all the time!

We were greeted straight away and seated. After that the service did not exist!! No drinks order was takes until over 20 minutes had gone. At the time the drinks order was taken I did say we were ready to order. The waitress said okay I will be right back. She never did. It was over 35 minutes until another waitress took our order. It took another 25 minutes for our starter. The food we had was absolutely delicious. Looked lovely and tasted good. We sat outside on a lovely warm day beautiful surroundings. Such a shame as every member of staff were very polite but absolutely dreadful service!!! Whist we waited I noticed how many other tables waited like us and there were another two.

Brilliant lunch on Saturday. Fab food and great service. Fairly pricey but definitely worth it.
