The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse is tucked away, and perfectly positioned on the most stunning part of the River Thames. The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

The restaurant is situated on the river. It is absolutely gorgeous as is the food. The service was friendly, informative and of a high standard. Highly recommended!

We arrived by boat and the restaurant was only a short walk from where we tied up. From the outset, the service was excellent and friendly and very quick without feeling hurried. The quality, choice and quantity of food was really excellent and presentation on a par with any quality restaurant. Our whole group were very impressed and we will definitely make a point of visiting again when we are next in the area.

Our friend could only spend an hour for lunch between appointments, so we explained that to to staff and they couldn’t have been more accommodating.

We are locals and have know and loved the venue that is the Beetle and Wedge for years. We went along for a birthday celebration last night and to differing degrees all 4 of us were disappointed. Disappointed that the menu was unchanged. More disappointed in the food itself which was well below our expectations. The river setting is exceptional and warrants top quality food not small portions of mediocre fare.

This is the place to come, if you want a relaxing restaurant right by the waters edge. A good selection of quality food, whether you want burger & chips or beautifully cooked sea bass with a selection of vegetables. We were looked after by very attentive staff, on a busy service, well done. See you again soon

fantastic location by the thames very friendly staff and overall great service ,we where unfortunate long waiting time for food of 1 hour from arrival however food offer was very good and good value for money

Deep joy to have delicious food served piping hot and on hot plates. Great service and setting.

Lovely 3 course meal in a lovely setting on a warm sunny day. Luckily for us, they weren’t too busy and we were given the option of eating outside or at a table by an open window overlooking the Thames. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful too.
