The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse is tucked away, and perfectly positioned on the most stunning part of the River Thames. The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

Everything was fine apart from my 'special request'. Lunch with an 82year old on her birthday - requested a small cake with candle or sparkler. NOTHING. Very disappointed! What is the point of asking for special occasions if you ignore the request.

A fantastic birthday meal in one of the pods directly overlooking the river. Excellent food, wine & location to celebrate turning 31.

First time ever at the Beetle and Wedge, despite not living far away for the last 65 years!! Took my 91 year old dad for a Sunday roast, just the two of us. Apart from having to walk a fair way (the car park is very small for the number of covers), the rest of experience was fantastic. Warmly welcomed, and was given a table I had requested, despite it being very busy. Dad had the chicken and I had the pork roast. It was superbly cooked and presented. Dad polished off his plate, which is always a good sign. We both opted for the sticky toffee pudding, which was exquisite. I must mention the serving team because there was a very large party adjacent to us, but everyone in the serving team was polite, cheerful, attentive and prompt, so a great credit to the B&W. Thumbs up to the chef too. Will definitely visit again, although we may try to find a slightly quieter time 😊

Welcoming and friendly staff. Very attentive. Great food, we had roast beef it was very tender. The chocolate brownie mousse was divine. Will be back.

Fantastic location on the banks of the Thames. Good choice in the menu, attentive staff and beautiful food. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Come here a lot. Very disappointing overall. Potatoes were served cold. We also asked for a Yorkshire with our Pork Belly and were flatly told if you want a Yorkshire you need to order Beef which has never happened before. We used to always get a Yorkshire with any roast we ordered.

The restaurant is situated on the river. It is absolutely gorgeous as is the food. The service was friendly, informative and of a high standard. Highly recommended!

We arrived by boat and the restaurant was only a short walk from where we tied up. From the outset, the service was excellent and friendly and very quick without feeling hurried. The quality, choice and quantity of food was really excellent and presentation on a par with any quality restaurant. Our whole group were very impressed and we will definitely make a point of visiting again when we are next in the area.

Our friend could only spend an hour for lunch between appointments, so we explained that to to staff and they couldn’t have been more accommodating.
