The Bear of North Moreton is a welcoming village pub in North Moreton, South Oxfordshire that dates back to the 16th century and has always been the heart of the village. We offer a humble menu of traditional home-cooked pub dishes, using the best local producers and seasonal ingredients. We serve a range of ales, beer, and cider and have a small and curated wine list.

There’s a large beer garden that backs onto the village cricket pitch, and we hope to open up the Aunt Sally pitch soon.

    Food was very good but the portions were too large so alot of food was wasted. Wine list is excellent.

    What a find! Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and very good food. Between us we ordered the hake, chicken and steak. None of us were disappointed. Puddings were good too and it was great to see a couple of GF options (including cheesecake). Well definitely be back.

    Food was excellent, as was the service except for a couple of small hiccups at the beginning. Plenty of choice on the menu and beef cooked to our liking instead of rare being the only option. Unusual pudding was enjoyed by all. Especially liked the generous portions and automatically being offered more veg or gravy. All staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

    The staff were all lovely but we were a bit disappointed in some of the food. The scotch egg was fantastic but the fish was mainly batter and the mushy peas were tasteless (no seasoning at all). The stroganoff was ok but served on an enormous baked potato it looked very off-putting and unattractive. However maybe we just chose badly and we would come back because it is such a sweet little pub in a gorgeous village.
