We were looking forward to our anniversary dinner at a new (to us) Jose Andres restaurant. After arriving and waiting to be seated, we were disappointed to see several parties arriving after us get whisked ahead of us to the upstairs dining room while we were eventually seated in the downstairs bar area. Took quite a while before anyone even took our drink order. Really disappointing way to set the tone for what we knew was going to be an expensive meal. The good new was that the cocktails (ultimate G&T and a watermelon drink) were excellent, as was the food and the bottle of wine we ordered. Our server was nice but not especially attentive (we had to ask for our wine glasses to be refilled, and we were ignored for long stretches). As good as the food was, it’s hard to recommend Bazaar at a price point that is much higher than Jaleo or Zaytinya but where you’re not made to feel like you’re having a special experience. (And this is a minor point, and maybe not even their fault, but despite noting our anniversary in the reservation, it was never acknowledged. Definitely not worth losing sleep over, but it fit the broader theme of indifferent service for what we were spending.)

Wonderful blend of traditional Spanish cuisine (e.g., Jaleo) and avant garde Spanish cuisine (e.g., Minibar). Flavors, textures, and sensations so vivid! Waitstaff friendly, efficient, and well trained. Upstairs dining room dramatic, luxurious, and romantic. Downstairs dining room casual.

A bit of a treat. Everything was very good except for two of our dishes failing to materialize and when we asked, being told the kitchen was backed up. I just don’t think that is a good enough excuse for any restaurant. Other than that though, we had a very pleasant meal and found it a bit of an experience.

Food was very good but service was disorganized. Plates showed up randomly. Forgot items. At least they compensated the vegetables. Literally.

Lovely food and fine service. The constant thwump of some soundtrack spoils the mood of the place. It's not music; it's noise; it's tacky; it has nothing in common with fine dining. Turn it off. Chef Jose's imagination and excellent cooking never disappoints. He works wonders with Brussels sprouts and reinvents Key Lime Pie. Like the true Spaniard he is, he puts sherry on the menu, knowing it's the best apperitif. We are fortunate in DC to have so many of his excellent venues, and Bazaar is no exception.

The food was amazing and the severe top notch. We were celebrating a birthday and they made it special. We would definitely visit again when in DC. Note that the restaurant is inside the Waldorf Astoria. It is in the main atrium and can be noisy.

Outstanding in taste and artistic presentation. Servers are very y knowledgeable on each dish they brought to the table. Overal, we were more than excited to try everything on the tasting menu,
