Welcome to the The Bav and The Tav at Bavarian Inn; a world of taste sensations that are sure to please every palate. Our beautiful and cozy restaurant is nestled in the quaint hamlet of Bragg Creek, Alberta in the foothills of the spectacular Rocky Mountains. The Bav continues to be dining at its best and The Tav is the same; a bit more casual - biking, hiking - all good as long as you're hungry!

We are proud to say The Bavarian Inn Restaurant has been serving guests for over 40 years and will continue!

Restaurant reservation "no show" fees are critical to reducing the number of "no-shows" and their impact on our business. Please note that we have a "no-show" fee policy in place, if you fail to show up for your booking without contacting the restaurant to cancel or reschedule, the fee is $50. For parties of 12 guests or more, please note that if any of your guests fail to arrive and do not cancel, the fee is $50/person.

This is our second visit to this great place. Everything was excellent second time around and the outdoor patio was so inviting. Great place and highly recommended.

Being a week night, the Inn was not very busy. The food was excellent.

Loved everything about this restaurant. My husband loves schnitzel so it was a delight to find really good schnitzel in the area.

This is one of our favourite restaurants - but last night they really outdid themselves. Lauren was our waitress and was amazing. The food was exceptional.

This was our first visit back in probably thirty years. We were very impressed. The service and food were excellent. We'll definitely be back soon. Bragg Creek is such a pretty place and this restaurant is a real gem!

We dine here every summer on our yearly road trip. This year the service was not good at all. It took a long time to get our food and the waitress was not as attentive as we would like. She never came back to ask how the food was or if we would like another drink. The empty plates sat for quite a while before the bar tender came to help as he realized we weren’t being looked after. He was great! Perhaps they were short staffed but it didn’t seem busy. Hope this is just a one off.

I would give zero stars if I could. Everything from the experience, to the service, to the food was bad. Wait time for food was unbearable. First our appetizer, the pretzel was hard and burnt, literally had a burnt taste, so bad, we could barely cut it or break it apart. I placed a burnt piece of the food so that it was clearly visible to the server and she had the nerve to aak me if I wanted it packed to take home. Who offers to pack up black burnt food. She should have recognized that the food was burnt and at least ask about it. Over an hour into our reservation time and still no food. At this point its been so long since my burnt app that im no longer hungry. When I raised the concern of wait time to the server she rattled off a bunch of excuses about small kitchen, big tables etc and tried to make it seem normal. No, just not acceptable. I am an experienced diner/foodie and have eaten at all types of restaurants all over the world and small kitchen is no excuse, how can you say waiting that long is normal. I would have appreciated if the server at least tried to address the issue instead of making excuses and then asking us if we are happy when clearly we were not. I honestly regret tipping her and wished I hadn’t. I guess they make you wait so long for the food so that when the food finally arrives you wont care how awful if is. It was awful. Pork was overcooked and so dry, side dishes were like baby food and overall everything was bland. I should have realized the red flag once I sat down and saw all my fellow dinners were senior citizens. My husband who never complains about food said the only thing he liked was his ginger ale. We arrived planning on having dessert but skipped it once we realized how bad the food was and after waiting so long for our mains. Definitely wont be back here, head to the italian farmhouse instead.
