We serve tasty and fresh sandwiches for those looking for a lighter lunch. We also offer a full and comprehensive menu for those wanting a more substantial meal. Our standard menu is accompanied by our Special Board, which details additional meals that we change throughout the month.

We pride ourselves on our menu as we make full use, where possible, of seasonal produce and look to source as much as possible from local Peak District and Derbyshire suppliers.

Much of our meat is supplied from Castlegate Stud Farm, in Stoney Middleton.

Excellent place To eat. And drink. Sit outside with a pint and look at the views. On a clear day you can overlook 5 counties. Staff were smart and pleasant food was excellent plenty of it too.

We've been going to the Barrel for nigh on 30 years now and seen it transform from a great local to an upmarket destination gastro pub. It seems to have grown with us and while I'll never forget the piano, Christmas carols and visits from Santa its still our favourite eatery. No question about it, you have to go.

Excellent meal enjoyed by all for us. Very friendly service. We were so engrossed in our conversation probably outstayed our welcome. I took my Wiltshire visitors to see the unbeatable surroundings afterwards.
