Lovely setting and grounds but food and service were sub-par. We were celebrating a birthday and my mum had baked a cake (so it was suitable for my brother to eat who has a severe peanut allergy)- they charged us £15 as ‘corkage’ to be able to eat the cake at the table. We had spent over £100 outside of this on breakfast and teas/coffee so we thought this additional charge was completely unfair. Thanks but we won’t be back!

Wonderful food, seasonal, tasty and well prepared. Lovely personalised service even on a busy Saturday. Can highly recommend, the menu has something for everyone throughout the day. Always enjoy my visits.

Nice environment and good service. Overall food was good but one of us requested a little more Hollandaise sauce as her dish was rather dry and needed more sauce. We were charged £1 more for this which we felt was a bit mean. We had also been asked on the booking if we were going for a special occasion. Although it was for a birthday there was no acknowledgement of this, so why ask?

Wonderful service, as usual!! I tried the spicy lamb/chickpea soup - an amazing dish! Sooo tasty, and almost more like a stew than a soup - with the lovely, crunchy toasted sourdough bread…. The others had wood fired cauliflower, poached eggs, Cornish mackerel - and a selection of yummy cakes - all of which were delicious. Can’t wait to go back…

As ever the staff were attentive and food of best quality. We are regular attendees and will continue to be so.

Great Saturday morning vibe with friends and families of all ages enjoying breakfast or cakes and pastries and coffee. Lovely light airy surroundings and first rate food and service.

Lovely venue with relaxed ambience. Very accommodating especially given that members of our party dropped out at the last minute. Helpful staff, food tasty and hot, would appreciate more choice eg brunch dishes through lunch. Flatbreads would be improved by inclusion of salad/rocket/parsley.i

I was looking for somewhere to take my husband for afternoon tea to celebrate a special birthday and this did not disappoint! The menu was unusual and very tasty, the staff were lovely, and there was a candle set in one of the cakes. A very lovely way to celebrate and we will be returning.
