We were really looking forward to experiencing The Bank but left disappointed. Firstly, the ambiance in the dining hall was that of a canteen. Stark lighting and very noisy. The poppadoms are ridiculous. Complete with a small handful of neon prawn crackers and what looked like a teaspoon of the dips. We were offered a second basket which we declined but got charged for them anyway. The starters were not hot enough and we returned the broccoli as it was cold and congealed. The mains were slow to arrive- we were told the kitchen was very busy. Plates for the main course were bought out hot and after about twenty minutes, when no food had arrived I asked them to be taken away. I asked for the mains to be served hot and they did come out hotter than the starters but the food went cold very quickly. Four of us ate with two bottles of wine, £320. Not for the faint hearted. I’m afraid there are far better restaurants in the area and it will need to improve. Clearly a lot of investment has gone into The Bank but it will need to attract “ repeaters”. Sadly, that won’t be us for the time being.

The Bank has only been open a month. When we arrived in Chorleywood station we were a bit worried. But on entering the restaurant it definitely has the wow factor., it was beautifully done. We ordered vegetarian platter, Punjabi samosa, adraki lamb chops. Followed by Lamb Rara, Chicken tikka masala, and kadai lamb and some sides. Everything we ate was fantastic, my favourite was the Punjabi samosa and lamb rara. The staff were attentive meaning not only was the food great, the service was excellent too. They had a mixologist as well and we watched some amazing looking cocktails being made from the beautiful well stock bar. Will definitely be returning to The Bank.

Wines and beers on the menu were not available and the issue was not handled that well. The lighting was too harsh and the appearance in Room 2 is one of a canteen. Poppadoms and chutneys were meagre and we had to ask for more to satisfy 7 people. Food was satisfactory but no better than other Indian restaurants. Overall a disappointing experience and expensive for what we got. We were hoping for so much from our new local up-market restaurant but regrettably it did not deliver.

The main room had a really loud echo so we asked to be seated in the adjoining room (which was uncomfortably hot). With the restaurants proximity to Northwood and the wide array of Indian restaurants, the food here was below par and lacked flavour in comparison. (I don't mean spice level! - food can be mild but still tasty). Paneer and broccoli starters were both bland and palak patta chat was not delicate as expected (rather laden with gram flour). The mains were better (malai kofta, garlic naan etc). Service was friendly and attentive (perhaps too much - we were trying to have a deep conversation and kept getting abruptly interrupted to ask if everything was ok).
