Located in the heart of the city The Bank on Collins is the perfect location for lunch, dinner or after work drinks. Appealing to the corporate community The Bank offers a modern Australian pub menu with an express lunch option for those on the go.

This iconic Melbourne building was built in 1876 from New Zealand Omaru stone with ornate metal balustrades. Originally home to The Bank of Australasia the site is now heritage listed with the Australian Heritage Commission and the National Trust of Australia.
Now, the upstairs of the building is home to the Treasury on Collins accommodation facilities.

The Bank on Collins is also suitable for corporate gatherings, celebrations and weddings. The floor plan is versatile to accommodate any style of event, catering up to 300 people for a cocktail party.

ordered a glazed pork belly & it came with some wierd salad which was confusing & tasted terrible. thankfully the rump stake was passable. overall food rating was bang average. the interior could do with a touch for a more fresh look.

It was great to bring a few young professionals to experience a business lunch with quick turn around, great service and value for money.

Had to wait for a while to be served. Waitress got our drink orders incorrect then snapped at me when I pointed this out.

The food was the highlight of our visit. Each dish was well-prepared, bursting with flavour, and presented beautifully. The menu offers a good variety, catering to different tastes and preferences, all at a price point that is reasonable for a CBD location. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in delivering quality meals that satisfy both the palate and the wallet. However, the service left much to be desired. Despite the quality of the food and the charming setting, the experience was marred by the chaotic service. The staff seemed overwhelmed and hurried, which unfortunately took us out of the otherwise delightful experience. While I understand that busy periods can be challenging, a bit more organisation and attentiveness would greatly enhance the dining experience. With some improvements in service, the Bank on Collins has the potential to offer a truly outstanding experience. I hope to see these changes implemented, as it would make this already good restaurant even better.

Initially when we arrived, waiter could not locate our booking but thankfully another staff member found our reservation as it was very busy when we arrived. It took a while for a waiter to come to take our order and it was hard to get attention from floor staff. It took a while for our drinks to arrive & we were one drink short so had to advise waiter of the shortfall. Our means arrived however one meal was served quite a while after the other meals which was unusual as usually meals should arrive around the same time. I think maybe the order was forgotten like the missing drink as another guest arrived & ordered after our meals were served & her meal arrived relatively quickly compared to the rest of our meals. I think service could be greatly improved. Meals were lovely & everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

A very lack lustre welcome and seating. The food was okay but mostly overcooked around the edges. The wine was fine. The waiter who brought our food to us was professional and came back later to check that everything was fine. Well done there. At the end of the night, the person who finalised our bill was the same person who took us to our seat, which meant another lacklustre finale. We will return but the hospitality skills of some staff needs to be improved, as does the cooking of chicken parmigiana. I will stick with the steak nights on Mondays.

Great value for money. I would mot hesitate to return. Brilliantly cooked steak and all 400 grams were scrumptious. The wine was also pleasant. We will return.
