The Bailiwick Free House has opened under the leadership of Steven Ellis previously of The Oxford Blue in Old Windsor with his wife Ami as head pastry chef. Nestled on the gates of The Windsor Great Park, The Bailiwick will be a gastronomic destination for locals and visitors to enjoy the very best produce that this naturally plentiful area has to offer. Steven’s training under the tutelage of Clare Smyth MBE at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has enabled him to offer a sophisticated twist on familiar dishes.

Another delightful meal at The Bailiwick with a friend from France. She enjoyed the Windsor Great Park deer and myself the Cornish sole. Lovely puddings and friendly service. Sad that we seemed to be the only ones in the restaurant but everyone is heading off on holiday, I guess.

A wonderful, authentic dining experience where the owners’ love of cooking with the best local produce really shines through. Nice ambience, excellent service with real personality, and I think exceptional value for the quality of the offering. I would highly recommend.

We arrived at the restaurant ahead of time and were shown to our seats. The meals had been pre booked as we were a party of 6. Staff were very nice, one had graduated earlier in the week so as we were a graduate celebration he congratulated our daughter. Food arrived and the Prix Fixe entrees were small. For a 2 course meal at £45 we thought the value for money was not there, however the bar menu was much better value. Drinks were expensive and so were desserts. A knickerbocker glory dessert was £15.00 and my Aperol Spritz was £13.00 I wasn't too bothered though as this was my daughter's reward for three years of hard work and a 1st class honours degree at the end of it. Roll on 2 more years for the same to happen to our youngest daughter!

Super food and service. Bar area very nice. Restaurant area rather noisy (lot of hard surfaces) and a little lacking in character. BUT a top place to eat with super service.

This is our favourite place to lunch or early supper. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Go out of their way to suit your requirements. We feel very much at home here. On top of that the menu suits every taste and is outstanding
