With an ever-changing menu full of locally sourced ingredients, chef & owner William Wakefield along with his wife Suzanne and their team are sure to have something for you. We have been trying to make the time to visit again as this is one of our “go to” restaurants. We are never disappointed. Just love this place. The food is outstanding. Attention to detail and service is so nice. Thank you. My wife chose what she wanted, while I asked the chefs to select for me as I just love the surprise and I wasn’t disappointed.

The place was buzzing and the ambience was good. Not too noisy so you couldn’t talk, just happy with lots of chat going on. All the food was very good, though the linguine was not available. Serving staff were lovely though not fully familiar with the menu. A slightly wider range of alcohol free beer would be good. Overall a very good night out and experience with lovely food 🙂

Another excellent meal at The Back Street. We always visit on our regular trips to Dumfries as the food and service is always exemplary.

Very nice meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Had steak meal for two with a bottle of wine. Thought it was good value for money.
