With an ever-changing menu full of locally sourced ingredients, chef & owner William Wakefield along with his wife Suzanne and their team are sure to have something for you. Try the signature Haggis Scotch Egg, a mouth watering steak, or perhaps some locally sourced Venison. Elderflower & Vodka Parfait for dessert? Yes Please! Went on Wednesday for the steak night, the food was outstanding as were the staff. Will return again

Another excellent meal at The Back Street. We always visit on our regular trips to Dumfries as the food and service is always exemplary.

Very nice meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Had steak meal for two with a bottle of wine. Thought it was good value for money.

The service is friendly and attentive! The quality of the food is solid and tastes good (burgers) to very good (salmon, haggis). The egg with haggis coating on the starter menu deserves a special mention. The actually very inviting ambience (open, cozy, modern) is somewhat impaired by the strong kitchen smells. Overall recommendable!
