Welcome to your friend neighborhood bar and sandwich shop. Tucked away on Lafayette Park, just a block from the downtown and seaport neighborhoods of Salem, MA, The Babe is the perfect place to rendezvous after work for a cocktail, grab a bite with friends, or get together for a late night celebration. We take pride in our scratch kitchen with a menu inspired by Northeast sandwich culture and cuisine; touching on fan favorites from Philly to NY, and of course, Boston! Our menu includes specialties like house-ground cheese burgers, loaded Italian subs with freshly sliced salumi, crispy and cheesy mozzarella pockets, crispy wings, and more. The dining room and bar have a casual but intimate feel with high ceilings, updated vintage architectural features, and warm deco-lighting. The Babe also features live performances several nights a week as well as a cozy backyard patio in the warm weather season.     Absolutely incredible! This is away from the tourist but still a quick walk (5-7min) from Essex St. The hamburger and the cheesesteak sandwiches were one of the best I’ve ever had but the fries took the cake! Definitely will eat there over and over again!

    They were able to take a reservation during busy Oct which alone makes them worth your consideration . Cocktail was good, food was very average bar food. Staff was friendly. I'd recommend for a meal if you want to make a reservation and not wait hour(s) elsewhere just know it's standard bar food nothing beyond average pub fair.

    The Babe was very busy The server apologized for TG slow service It was not slow by my standards The burger was awesome A nice place overall for the locals🎃

    Great spot to beat the crowds in Salem during the Halloween rush! We snagged a reservation the same week of our trip and we are glad we did! Great breakfast sandwiches and great cocktails. Perfect brunch!

    I like lively music so the karaoke was fun to watch. Not necessarily first date restaurant but perfect for a fun night. We had a great time & our waiter was top notch.
