Welcome to your friend neighborhood bar and sandwich shop. Tucked away on Lafayette Park, just a block from the downtown and seaport neighborhoods of Salem, MA, The Babe is the perfect place to rendezvous after work for a cocktail, grab a bite with friends, or get together for a late night celebration. We take pride in our scratch kitchen with a menu inspired by Northeast sandwich culture and cuisine; touching on fan favorites from Philly to NY, and of course, Boston! Our menu includes specialties like house-ground cheese burgers, loaded Italian subs with freshly sliced salumi, crispy and cheesy mozzarella pockets, crispy wings, and more. The dining room and bar have a casual but intimate feel with high ceilings, updated vintage architectural features, and warm deco-lighting. The Babe also features live performances several nights a week as well as a cozy backyard patio in the warm weather season. Excellent service and ambiance . Cocktail options are all consuming; the bar is fully stocked. Small menu but covers all the bases well. I had a cheeseburger and my husband ordered the meatball sandwich-we split an order of fries. Music is upbeat, and set at “background volume”. Staff is attentive, friendly and engaging. Don’t miss karaoke night -Friday at 8:00!

Everything was on point. My cocktail with brunch was delicious and not too strong. The food was great! Our server was perfectly attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back and recommend to my friends.

When we got to the restaurant & for the majority of the meal - our group was the only group at the restaurant. Near the end two couples sat at the bar. We had incredibly slow service…I can understand a delay in service if we had been dining in a busy restaurant- this was just so strange. I had sent my meal back after being told it was something different than what it was.

Loved it here! Great food, lovely patio out back ... a hidden gem. Seems like it would be fun for families or a night out with a group. We had two couples and enjoyed a relaxing meal with time to chit chat and kind service.

GREAT SPOT. So glad we have this is Salem. Has NYC upscale-dive vibes and ambiance. The food and drinks were yummy, good indi/ rock mysic in background but not too loud, We loved that the tv was off, no annoying tingy cell phone audio- people were just enjoying eachothers company, the good food and the place.
