Lovely food, slightly expensive. Nice pub but a man was sat next to us vaping. Thank you too the young blonde service lady who asked him to stop.

Had 4 things on menu that wasn't available, and what was left, we didn't want. Had a drink, and left to find somewhere for food.

We arrived and were sat next to the toilet. The pub was really busy. We had looked at the menu online and read reviews, but the waitress presented us with a paper menu with items crossed out because they were “awaiting a delivery”. The menu didn’t look anything like what we saw online. We almost left but in the end everyone found something. We were then told that there would be a delay of 30-40 minutes because chef was serving a private function. When the food did arrive it really wasn’t the best. My burger was served in a crusty (not in a good way) bun, my husbands pie (there was only one left) was small, the fish and chips was really greasy. The chicken Kiev was OK. Overall just really disappointing. Before the pub changed hands we had had some good meals there. They also had a duo playing which became quite obtrusive in the end. The waiting staff were great. Really friendly and worked hard. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend.

Sunday 03 March. Had a table booked for 3PM for Sunday lunch. We arrived early and the general eating area seemed quiet so at 2:40 I asked if we could have a table. Our reserved table was free so it was pointed out to us and we sat down. The table was dirty and not made up as were other tables adjacent to us. At 2:50 I went to the bar to order a round of drinks and at this time I asked for the table to be cleaned and also a menu. The table was promptly wiped over by the person who had served me at the bar but no menu delivered. We were at a prominent table and a number of staff were milling around the end of the bar when not serving which was quite often as the bar was not busy. At 3:05 we finished our drinks and got up to leave as no one seemed interested in our custom. I went to the bar and spoke to whom I presumed to be the manager who was about to take a customers food order. I excused myself to the customer for the intrusion and started to explain my situation. Before I had finished the staff member put his hand up and said stop "I am serving this lady." At this juncture I turned away and walked out. I am well travelled and have eaten at literally hundreds of bars and restaurants worldwide and I can honestly say that my custom as never been dismissed in this manner. Appalling service!

We booked for late Sunday afternoon and the football was on. This wasn’t a problem but it was blaring from all speakers which we should have seen as a bad omen. We decided to stay and our food was extremely disappointing. Luke warm and some of it cold. We had a future booking with family which we quickly cancelled.

After our last experience wasn’t too good, we decided to give the venue another try. In honesty the start the service was incredible. The young lady behind the bar was fantastic. Very quick with service. Our food was fantastic. However we then proceeded to wait with our plates for much longer even though the venue was pretty much empty with two staff talking on the bar, we were intending on having desserts but because of this decided to pay up and go home. We will be going back to the venue again as the food was fantastic. We just hope that the service has that little push to make things slightly better.

When we arrived the place was packed due to the football being on - which is fine but we should have been told on booking - we then waited ages to be seated - then left at the table for around 10 mins before the lady came over and said 'we are way too busy so youll have to order everything at the bar yourself' this was impossible due to the amount of people at the bar and would have taken ages to order drinks and then food - so we left really disappointed with the service

Hi Chloe, I apologise that you were not informed that sport is on, but we are first and foremost a sports pub. We only offer table service when we have the ability to do so, many other tables were able to order no problem. We are a pub first but we like to offer a more restaurant experience when we can. To mark the food as 1 and value as 1 considering food nor drink was not ordered I regard as unfair, especially when the team work so hard, under the circumstances at this time of the year. There were also no notes on the booking, therefore we didn't have any information provided by you on whether it was for sport, food or just drinks. I would advise utilising these on open table when booking in the future as a courtesy call would have been made had we known the nature of the visit.
