The Apprentice Restaurant Sydney is a TAFE NSW licensed training restaurant.
We are open Tuesday to Thursday lunch and dinner during TAFE Term time.
Lunch 12pm to 2pm: three courses (entrée, main & dessert) for $44 or you can select any two courses for $39.
Dinner 6pm to 8:30pm: three course menu for $44.
(Our prices are excluding beverages). Group beverage packages are available to pre-purchase fort he whole group.
Our meals are usually served Table d’hôte (alternate drop) and portions are limited.

Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. For group bookings of 11 people or more please contact us by phone 02 7920 0909 (9am to 4pm) or email si.theapprentice@tafensw.edu.au. Payment in advance is required for group bookings.
We accept payment by EFTPOS, Visa or MasterCard. We do not accept cash or split bills. There is one bill per table.
Dietary requirements must be advised 24 hrs in advance.

We enjoyed a delightful night at The Apprentice. The special event was a guest chef - Lorna Lee - who designed a special menu and prepared and served by TAFE NSW students. The 5-course dinner was matched with a beautiful selection of Australian and European wines by TAFE NSW Wine Academy staff. Great value, great night.

We had another wonderful night - great service friendly staff and a few laughs with the host Milli . Food excellent with matching wines - great value for money, thank you ! 10 out 10

First of all, kudos to all the students! It was a lovely experience and would definitely come back! Couple of comments - plating for the main was too crowded. The beef cheek was a bit too rich and the portion was too big. The sides of the beef cheek was also a bit tough - perhaps more braising liquid or go less hard on the sear on the outside. The kangaroo, scallop and salmon were a bit overcooked, with the salmon especially - the sides were also seared. Matcha sponge was too dense and the lemon mertyl sorbet was quite weak - the floral and fruity notes disappeared. The cheesecake was served with a Davidson plum sauce but it tasted more like strawberry coulis. But overall, goood job to the students!

I enjoy coming to The Apprentice as the students are always lovely and very eager to please. The table setting is very nice and overall the atmosphere is good. I’ve eaten this menu before and was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food. The kangaroo entree was cold but still tasted nice, beef cheeks very dry and fatty and sauce lacked flavour. The matcha sponge for dessert was delicious and a 10 out of 10 . Overall, value for money The Apprentice is very good . However, be sure to check what menus is being served if you would like to try different dishes. I’ll be back next month 👍

The service was attentive and nothing could be faulted. Our group enjoyed the good food and setting. It was a beautiful lunch. Will be back. Thank you.

Run by students, on hospitality training AIUI, who do the cooking and waiting, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Very nicely done food with some interesting twists that made what could have been ordinary special. The server on my table was noticeably nervous but it was his first night. And the price - AU$48 for three courses was exceptional for the quality. Highly recommended although book early as it is only open some nights.
