The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

Was very, very loud when we walked in....quieted down when a large party left. Food was interesting, and flavors good, but my husband felt not the best for the buck, small portions, which we're normally fine with, but pricey!

Doesn't matter what I say, people read it as they want. The service and atmosphere was great. The food lacked flavor, portions were small. Very pricey for what you get. Hardly any protein on the menu So it's great for vegans. Desserts were even blah. Couldn't get a dirty martini right after two attempts? Won't go back and I'll take bets on how long they stay in business.

We were so excited to dine here after reading the reviews. We ordered the trio of dips. The bread was delicious. However, the dips were not exciting. The black eggplant dip had the best flavor profile. One of us ordered the Crispy polenta with King trumpet mushroom. The polenta was blah. The Striped Bass dish smelled excessively fishy the moment it arrived. The portion size was generous. However, between 3 of us we did not eat it. We ordered a bottle of wine ($80) and also had three cocktails total (3x$14) at the table. The Scotch cocktail was overshaken and lost its dimension. The other cocktails were well done. Both of my fellow diners separately commented the the decor is diner, albeit an attractive one! Surprising for an upscale restaurant. The other issue is that it is so loud in there you can’t hear and your hearing sense is so overloaded you can barely focus on the taste of the food. Our total bill was $265 and we left a $52 tip. We do wish the restaurant well. Hopefully, they can make some adjustments to the pricing and the quality consistency of the food. We love the Cincy dining scene and that they made their home in Walnut hills. The FOH crew is wonderful, charming, and polite. They were the best part of the experience.

There were 2 couples dining together so we ordered the hummus and everything on the appetizer menu since we wanted to try everything! The food was fantastic and full of flavor. We were pretty full but had to try a dessert so we went with our server’s recommendation. Yum! We will definitely be back!

Every thing was perfect!! We were lucky to snag a last minute table on a Friday night. Hannah was fantastic! Got us an excellent table by the window, James was perfect at getting us drinks and explaining the menu items, and we even got a greeting from Chef! Couldn’t have asked for a better night out. Oh! And that Asian pear & beet salad was to DYE for! Delicious! Well done by all… chef’s kiss!!

The food was amazing, service was top notch. The ambience and acoustics left something to be desired but overall it was a great experience. The chicken liver mousse and honey nut squash were incredible!
