We offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation nestled on the banks of the River Coquet in the tranquil hamlet of Weldon Bridge, near Morpeth, Northumberland.

The Anglers Arms has gained an enviable reputation for providing fantastic food for every occasion whether its a quick sandwich at the bar, a relaxing pub lunch with some friends or a romantic meal for a special occasion.

The Anglers Arms can provide a truly unique venue for a wedding reception or private party with meals and catering to suit all tastes and budgets. Take a look at our wedding section for more information.

We also have our own, private stretch of the River Coquet available to guests on a day ticket basis who are keen to test their angling skills on one of England’s most renowned game fishing rivers.

Join us on Christmas Day for a traditional, indulgent and tantalising 5 course menu complete with canapes and fizz on arrival, vegetarian option and the best ingredients the region has to offer. Adults £95 and children £60. We require a 50% deposit to secure the booking, with the remaining balance paid by the 1st December along with your pre-order. The team will reach out to arrange this with you.

Used to be a top restaurant but has gone down hill quickly, we won’t be back.

Used to frequent here many moons ago for delicious food, super service and great value for money but this Bank Holiday we were sadly disappointed! The decor is dated, the furniture sad and the food is tasteless and overpriced! The supposedly ‘creamy wild mushroom & truffle linguine,’ was watery and bland whilst the ‘butternut squash & goat’s cheese wellington,’ was very dry and accompanied by overcooked potatoes and carrots! The staff on the other hand were polite, friendly & efficient but unfortunately we won’t be back nor will we recommend! The premise heading the Food & Wine part of The Anglers Arms webpage states what we believed it to be - ‘gained an enviable reputation for providing fantastic food for every occasion … cooked fresh to order using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible - some of them supplied by the farms on our very doorstep!’ Well we refute that, certainly not like it was or fresh farm ingredients, in fact ‘where possible’ seems to be the get out clause used! Please change your suppliers/chefs soon to fulfil your obligation and to regain your reputation like the fabulous Cook and Barker up the road.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at The Anglers Arms this bank holiday. Tracy was our server, and was super attentive to us while we dined. Even though we were in the bar area, we were still looked after well (which often isn’t the case when you’re sat in a pub bar!). The best Sunday lunch we’ve had in a long while. Great value for money. Will definitely be returning!

The table next to us was extremely noisy, had never been introduced to indoor voices which tarnished our experience. Beer was a bit pricey.

Lovely meal. Good value and nicely cooked and presented. The menu was great and gave us lots of choice. Very helpful staff. Dogs were made very welcome.

Service was excellent, the servers were very attentive and friendly. Lovely pub, very clean. I would have given 5 stars but a couple of things let it down. We had the sharing Sunday lunch platter and the unlimited gravy was a huge positive because all 4 of us like a lot of gravy. The veg and Yorkshire puddings were barely warm, obviously placed on the non-heated wooden platter first. The meat and potatoes were just warm. I like my food piping hot like the cauliflower cheese was. Also we were given the tiniest jug of gravy between 2 of us, yes we could have more but the servers were busy and we had to wait for them to come into where we were. Very obliging when we asked for more but again brought another very small jug of gravy. We had to ask another twice for gravy making 4 in total for each couple. By the time we had caught the servers for more gravy our lunches were barely warm. No problem we thought as plenty of gravy will warm it up nicely. Served small jugs of gravy each time and the wait in between did not warm our lunches up as we had hoped. Pleas ditch the tiny jugs for the gravy and the wooden serving board unless the food is piping hot when given to the diners. Chicken and pork melted in our mouths but the beef was very hard to chew. Beautiful tasting lunch, with a few tweaks would be excellent and worth 10 stars. Still edible and nice but needs to be piping hot.

The Angler’s Arms is an attractive looking pub in a quiet setting. The staff were lovely & friendly, but the pub could definitely benefit from a few changes, such as water on the table, better lighting (it’s v bright for an evening) and a wine list would have been good to see (we did ask about wines). Maybe good bread/olive oil while waiting for our food. The menu has a good selection of food, albeit pretty basic pub grub. We didn’t have pudding. Overall absolutely fine, but needs tweaking to keep in line with the prices it charges.

I made a booking for 3, on arrival the table was set for 2. Did not feel very welcome at this point. Food was lovely, there was an issue with my main course . It was resolved . Without any real care or concern by the staff, but it was resolved. But I ate after the others. The pub did appear short staffed, and waitress confirmed they'd been busier than planned . However, we have been coming to this pub for 20 years. Last night I felt we were just a nuisance, so we probably not rush back.

Lovely meal in the bar, with good menu selection of fresh local produce, deliciously put together at a reasonable price. Will definitely make a point of returning when next in the area.
