Lovely evening! Restaurant had a lovely chilled vibe and staff were really friendly and efficient. Food choice was good and we enjoyed what we ate. I know it is difficult to address but there were a lot of flies around. Overall we had a good evening and we will be back!

Always a lovely experience at the Anchor at Nayland. Whenever the sun is out we sit in their outside section by the river and watch the dragonflies play and people haul up their paddle boards onto the grass while they also enjoy a drink or a meal at this establishment:) This time it was very busy due to being a bank holiday weekend, but the staff were sill friendly, polite and efficient. I think it helps that there appeared to be a good ratio of waiting staff to customers, none the less, we have never had anything but excellent service every time we have been to this venue. The food is always of a high standard and presented beautifully which is why we have no hesitation in bringing visitors along with us to eat here. All in all, we are happy customers and so are our guests :)

As usual, our visit was lovely, we were greeted warmly by the lovely friendly staff and well looked after all evening. The food was excellent and we will return soon!

Beautiful position next to the river, plenty of seating with sun parasols outside, exterior bar to save the ‘trek’ inside. Food was brilliant, great choice, tasty selection, very well presented. Friendly efficient staff. We will be revisiting and recommending to friends and family

Lovely meal ruined a little by the £1.00 charge for the single amaretti biscuit with tea/coffee! Needless penny pinching.

We come here often and usually have no issues so this is rare negative feedback , but the service on Sunday was way below usual standard. 1. Dropped our starter over the table, the waitress just said oh dear , do you want a spoon to scoop it off the table ? 2. We were completely overlooked on main course. Eventually we flagged that our food had not arrived and was given a very flakey excuse to do with a large group booking. Food still took over 20mins from that point. We wouldn’t have minded but a complimentary drink or a small reduction in final bill would have sweetened everything. Sincere verbal apologies, yes, yes but a small gesture would have been nice. We arrived at 4pm, main course served at 620pm!
