The American Reserve is a vibrant downtown dining gem, with a warm setting distinguished by a chic décor, elegant marble walls and lofty 20-foot ceilings.

For gourmet breakfasts, business lunches and intimate dinners alike, guests may select from an inventive, locally sourced seasonal menu perfectly complemented by signature cocktails and an impressive wine list.

The American Reserve is located downtown Kansas City, open 365 days a year. Currently serving dinner from 5pm-10pm daily. The American Reserve can accommodate most dietary needs. Parking based upon availability.

We decided to go for our anniversary dinner. The service was nonexistent and the atmosphere was a bar with tables. No ambiance. No recognition of our anniversary, despite adding it to our reservation. We were so disappointed that we changed our mind on dinner, ordered a drink and appetizer. We went somewhere else (the Bristol) for dinner. So glad we left.

Whoever was cooking last might needs serious instruction on how to properly cook a steak. I ordered my fillet medium it came out well done the first time and medium rare the second time. When we asked for the steak to refired, they told us it would be 20 minutes. No steak takes 20 minutes to do properly. For a restaurant of this caliber this should not happen. We come in here often we absolutely love the place and the food but last night was off. .

Our food was really excellent. We had pork chops, black cod and shrimp and grits. Our waiter Gary was great!

Kc strip was done perfectly, devilled eggs were excellent, loved the hashbrown. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and were not disappointed.

We dine at the restaurant for the first time, it was highly recommended on Open Table. The hotel and location created a nice ambiance. The server was friendly. The food was average based on the prices. The shrimp and grits had decent taste but the presentation was under whelming. We probably will not dine at Americana again but it was a decent experience.
