So enjoyed the prime rib and shrinp! The veggies were good. The bread and tomato basil soup was wonderful. Please go enjoy the buffet!

The service was good, the food was bland and overpriced. The setting in the Yosemite Valley was stunning.

Wonderful service...thank you Lucy snd Vanessa! Beautiful ambiance, even with the construction outside. Food was good, even though it was a small Buffett, all the items were what to be expected.

I’ve been dining at the Ahwahnee dining room since the late 1970’s, at least 3 of every 5 years. The kitchen is currently closed, so only a buffet is available from a mobile shipping container kitchen attached to the hotel, temporarily. The experience certainly suffers. For $65, I expected better. Not eating meat or poultry, I had to wait 30 minutes for the fish chafing dish to be replenished while my dinner party finished their meals and my side dishes got cold. I kept being told fish was coming soon. After 4 trips up to the buffet, the servers agreed to notify me when the fish arrived. And they did so: even the chef came out for me. The story is typical for a company that underresources their operations and rely on committed, exhausted staff to take up the slack, however impossible that is. We found this to be true throughout the hotel. I’m hoping this gets better once the kitchen is rebuilt, but I’m not holding my breath. The overall experience has deteriorated significantly. It’s going to be tough keeping good staff if they’re having to constantly apologize and know they’re being set up for failure.

Terrible. Food, service, the whole experience. Buffet only. Nothing was evenly remotely hot. Food was just not good. Our server disappeared after bringing us soup and refreshments. Literally went to the hostess to ask for our bill after waiting almost thirty minutes after finishing our meals. No drink refreshments, including water refills. We don’t recommend dining here.

Fabulous setting, attentive staff, but the overall experience is quite a sad commentary on the times. Overpriced food in a cafeteria setting. The prime rib was delicious but the few other offerings were overcooked & meager. And now there is only valet parking so you must pay an extra 10-15 dollars for the experience. The National Parks should be an experience available to everyone, not just those with money.

The dinner was buffet and food wasn’t hot at all. Their kitchen is being redone, but no excuse for cold food. I expected more for dinner at the Ahwahnee. Service otherwise was great.

I came with low expectations based on other reviews, and appreciated that. The Ahwahnee kitchen is undergoing a major, overdue remodel. Our server said it was essentially gutted. They decided to go ahead and keep the restaurant open with a temporary kitchen. The food is not good—think wedding banquet if you were at the end of the line so the lettuce is wilted and the cream sauces have congealed. But the dining room is gorgeous and historic, so I was still glad to have the option to enjoy it. Once the remodel is done and the kitchen reopens, I am sure it will be restored to its former glory.

I understand they are going through a renovation, however the buffet seems like a money grab. Over $60 for cold food. Some of it was decent. The prime rib and mac and cheese would have been good if warm. The shrimp would have also been good but was too salty to eat. Many other items including the dessert was inedible. The cupcakes tasted like they were made last Halloween. Worse than the food is how many tables they have crammed in the space to scam as many visitors as possible. We were seated in the napkin area with the staff which was by the window overlooking the construction trailers. A very poor experience. They can't help making adjustments due to the renovation but they could do a better job than they are doing.
