Thai Square restaurant on Kew Road in the London borough of Richmond, near the station, has brought a taste of the East to the West with impressive results. The building is the former Duke of York pub which has been excitingly transformed into a lovely, sun-drenched, modern, elegant restaurant with beautiful Thai artwork and artefacts. You could be in Bangkok. Thai Square’s chefs have together collected more than a thousand authentic recipes for their Thai cuisine, which means that the large menu you’re offered is only a share of what they know. Authentic Thai ingredients are flown in and the food is created using fresh, high-quality ingredients in dishes like gang pa, yum nua or favourites like kanom jeeb, goon kratiam and the national dish, pad Thai. Thai Square’s wines and service are exemplary and the whole experience a delight.

Despite a confirmation of our booking the restaurant denied all knowledge of this when we arrived. They eventually found us a table after about 45 minutes and then did their best to ignore us. Extremely slow and disinterested service made for a dreadful experience

Table wasn't ready, service was poor, food was delayed which meant we were rushed eating. 2nd time there ... the first was a better experience but this time was poor. Ended up paying 12.5% service fee but was too late to argue about having it removed.

A good option for a pre-Rugby lunch. Our starters arrived quickly, although one of the dishes was missing, it was delivered soon after. A slight delay before the main courses appeared which were tasty and authentic. By this time the restaurant was extremely busy so not really a surprise. The waiting staff were pleasant enough but were perhaps just a little in awe of the exuberant crowd of Rugby fans.

the main course was very nice the service excellent the only complaint i would have was my desert with ice cream centre was like concrete obvious straight out the freezer not very good

Love this place, even though it took us about eight years between visits. Standard of service and food is incredible, we'll be back... but hopefully a bit sooner this time.

Lovely looking restaurant been a few times before. However, they served burnt noodles as one of our mains. They were helpful enough to offer a new dish but couldn’t believe they actually served it and made it look all pretty. Not impressed.

Lovely venue and excellent food. Service was good and the resturant was not busy or loud. I have been too a few Thai Sqaure branches, but this one is by far my favourite.

The place was deserted & we ordered some wine but except for one all were low quality Thai wines. The menu was typically Thai, not much to rave about just the Massaman curry was good. Value for money n staff very helpful.

We ate a meal here a few weeks ago and were all disappointed with the food. We spent quite a lot of money here and felt that the price didn't reflect the food.
