    Terrain was such a missed opportunity. Great ambience, local ingredients , interesting menu but the food was not prepared well at all. There was no taste. It felt like the chef didn’t bother or wasn’t concerned about what they were serving. The steak was ordered medium but was bloody. When we asked the server, she justified it. The scallops with pasta…had no taste. I had to get olive oil on the side to even make it palatable.

    We decided to eat outside which was a lovely garden setting. Such a beautiful evening! Our waitress Amanda was lovely, vivacious, attentive, and fun! The food was delicious as always. My scallops cooked to perfection and the pasta incredible. Greg’s pork tenderloin also done to perfection and sauce scrumptious. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that they still permit BYO with no corkage fee since that is still our preference even though they now have a full bar.

    We were disappointed in the service. We were one of two tables outside. We sat for about 10 or 15 minutes before I had to go inside and ask the hostess if our server could take care of us. The food, as usual was top drawer. However, it took away from our enjoyment to have to ask for service and wait so long to receive it.

    Atmosphere and gardens are wonderful, our server and the overall service was great, my issue is the food. This is the second time I have dined at Terrain in a month. Both times the food was bland and poor quality. Today I ordered the grilled cheese and greens. the grilled cheese was on small sourdough bread and it was so overcooked that you couldn’t even bite into the crust and then some. I could only eat a few bites from the center of the sandwich. It was also sparse of ingredients inside the sandwich (one very thin slice of cheese and very thin sliced apples). The greens were just greens but the dressing was good.

    New bar is lovely. Candles s bit overpowering. Too many items in the store seems crowded. A And takes away from the plants

    Service and atmosphere are great. Coffee was excellent. Chicken potpie was disappointing. It had a nice flavor but had almost no filling - only a few very small pieces of chicken and carrots. The usual rich and creamy gravy you usually get with a pot pie filling was instead completely liquid and the serving dish was filled to the top with it.

    Extremely slow service when we arrived, for drinks and appetizers. Food was average. They couldn’t get the bill fast enough, bringing it while we were just starting dessert, which I thought was kind of rude

    We have eaten at the Bethesda location many times and have enjoyed great food and service. Unfortunately tonight our drinks came out slowly one at a time. When we ordered wine after cocktails it arrived when we were almost done with our entrees. The harvest bowl, which is usually excellent, was very dry.

    Food was delicious. Service was terrific. There were one or two glitches and the wait staff practiced great service recovery. Only problem was noise level in the garden room.

    Great service! The food was fantastic! We had the mushroom soup, avocado toast, and chicken pot pie. Wonderful ambience! Will definitely return!
