Executive Chef Augusto Caudillo brings a wealth of culinary expertise and local knowledge to the heart of Santa Barbara. Graduating from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, he honed his skills in various kitchens, including Fess Parker Wine Country Inn and Lucky’s Steakhouse. Caudillo's passion for food began at a young age, growing amid a large family where meals were a cornerstone of connection and memory-making. Drawing inspiration from both Californian and Mediterranean traditions, Caudillo's dishes offer a tantalizing blend of aesthetics and nutrition — a testament to his love of crafting memorable experiences.

This is a newer restaurant at a new hotel so they seem to be working on things. But, they were out of 2 of the 5 deserts, the artichoke lacked flavor, the burger tasted microwaved and they brought us to go cups when we ordered coffee with our desert. We had to ask for porcelain cups and pour our coffee. For this type of restaurant, I expect more.

Food was mostly delicious but service was just atrocious. Wait staff were serviceable but completely overwhelmed. Our family of four had a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday night and it took two full hours for us to get through dinner with no appetizer service (the appetizers we ordered inexplicably came with the dinner when it finally came). When we arrived at the restaurant most of the tables were empty, but they wouldn’t let us sit at any of the tables we wanted to sit at because they said they were reserved. We said we had a reservation, but that didn’t matter. However as other patrons arrived without reservations, they were allowed to sit wherever. The wait staff were just overwhelmed - I think there were three guys for the dining room, bar and pool area. Who is managing this place? At one point we waited 30 minutes to order a drink. We tried to go up to the bar and order one but never were able to get the bartender’s attention. Every step of the way it was hard to find our server or really anyone to help us. When we could finally flag someone down, it would then take awhile for any request to be fulfilled. The food (when it finally came) was almost all great. Kids meals (burgers and PB&J) were devoured and adult meals (cavatelli and steak) were delicious. Only bummer were the mashed potatoes were cold and flaky, almost like they were from a grocery store. One final note: they were out of a ton of stuff on the wine list. Not a big deal, but annoying when you’re trying to order.

The server was very nice and attentive, but not a high end server at all. This is solid hotel food at best. It is far more expensive than it should be for the quality and quantity. The charcuterie board had about $3 worth of cheese on it. The portions were tiny. Also, we dined here for dinner and again for breakfast. A breakfast for two was $60 with no alcohol. I’m from the SF Bay Area and am quite used to high prices but $18++ for yogurt & fruit?! Also, at both meals, we were told that several main dishes were unavailable because the kitchen was out of ingredients.

It wasn't obvious when I made my reservation that Sunday was buffet, only. $65 and hardly worth it for normal breakfast options. The tri-tip was good, cool baked potatoes, generic Mac and cheese, plus squash. We did get a free mimosa for Father's Day....😳

We were there for the Mother’s Day brunch, which was a disappointment… much of the food was cold, or lukewarm at best, and they were slow to replenish… the ambience was nice and I’d imagine for a regular meal it would be quite nice. However, we would not do the buffet brunch again

Total bait and switch. The description of the Mother's Day buffet did not match the poor quality of food and lack of food available. Complete lack of truth in advertising. I will be asking corporate Marriott to investigate this and asking for a refund. It is not ok to flat out lie and deceive people. Lack of food as represented, incredibly poor quality, lack of plates and lots and a total disappointment without any empathy for the patrons. Charging $45 for children and having zero children items is NOT ok. Not even a variety of juices or chocolate milk or basics for kids. They advertised a waffle and pancake bar - it was 2-3 disgusting pancakes (they were running out) and they ran out of waffles and substituted boxed pasta for it. Zero toppings as well. Even the bagels - when asked to toast them - we were met with disdain. On top of it the staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful.

We showed up for Mother’s Day brunch buffet to take my mom and grandma out. When we got there, there was ultimately no food. They ran out of plates too. They had coffee in a separate room that we had to get, and they also ran out of cream and coffee that we had to wait to get refilled. No one got us water and we had to ask for someone to serve us. When they finally brought more food out, they would only bring 3 yogurt parfaits and 6 mini Benedict’s out at a time when there was a line of around 15 people. I’m not one to write negative reviews but this was embarrassing and such a waste of money. My mom was tearing up when we got back home. I hope this restaurant figures it out because for a third of the price we could’ve gone to a nice restaurant that actually served us.

It was atrocious, a total nightmare. I wish zero stars were an option, but it's not. My party arrived on time for a dinner in honor of a candidate for a faculty position at a prestigious local university. It look half an hour to get water for the table (with no refills) and forty-five minutes for the person who initially introduced themselves as our waiter to return to the table. (Why didn't we leave earlier? It wasn't the usual dinner-with-friends--we were professors hosting a job candidate and wanted to believe the situation would improve.) The waiter then said that the only fish option on the menu was not available; we would have left within five minutes if we had been told this from the start, since the person being hosted only eats fish. What raises this above the usual "bad service" situation was the lack of consideration for our time, lack of professionalism, and lack of respect. I won't return, even if dragged by wild horses and "comped" for the appetizers and drink that never came.
