Chef Teiichi Sakurai, well-known as the founder of Teppo (1995) and Tei Tei (1998), opened Tei-An in 2008 at One Arts Plaza. Chef Sakurai continues the pursuit of introducing authentic Japanese culinary culture to Dallas through ancient techniques and years of mastering the fragile and sophisticated soba noodle.
Called "The crown jewel of Japanese dining in Dallas" by former Dallas Morning News restaurant critic Leslie Brenner, Tei-An continues to induct diners into the art of dining at a traditional, yet modern, Japanese soba noodle house.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Tokyo-born chef Teiichi Sakurai helped introduce Japanese food and culture to Dallas starting in the '90s before opening this celebrated soba house in 2008. The intimate omakase counter surrounds a rock garden at the center, creating a shrine-like, very-Tokyo atmosphere for wagyu, sashimi, and other traditional Japanese fare. One thing's for sure: every meal from this six-time James Beard semifinalist must end with soba.

Had a wonderful dinner with my son last night! The standouts were baby yellowtail, Japanese snapper and the toro. We had all as sushi and each was the most delicate, flavorful, perfect bites! The tuna tartare with caviar was sublime and the beef on the rock was perfect- nice touch that they cook it for you.😉I also recommend the lychee martini-chef’s kiss!😘

If you love Japan and its cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant. Their small dishes are exceptional, showcasing a fine quality that comes through in every bite. Additionally, they offer some of the best quality fish you'll find in the DFW area. It all comes together when you learn about Chef Teichi's background-he has over 30 years of experience, and the restaurant has been opening for 16 years! Hands down to the best service, with attention to every detail, and the ambiance is so inviting that you won't want to leave. DEFINITELY WOULD GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN

We did their classic omakase for my birthday and our server Van was very attentive. There were 7 portions total including a hot rock, soba, and dessert! If you're looking to do a date night or a birthday dinner, I recommend going here.

Tei-An is one of the finest hidden gems in Dallas. The menu can be intimidating but our server Thien was told that it was out first time in from the host that warmly asked us, so he patiently and thoroughly guided us through the menu. Food was fantastic and the sake recommendations paired perfectly with everything we ordered. A big thank you to the team for making our regular weekday dinner feel like a warm yet sophisticated celebration!

A hidden gem for soba lovers! The handmade soba noodles are simply outstanding—perfectly firm with a delightful chew. Whether you enjoy them cold with a dipping sauce or hot in a comforting broth, the flavors are pure and authentic. The minimalist decor and cozy atmosphere create the perfect space to savor every bite. Beyond the soba, other dishes were equally delightful, showcasing a wonderful variety of seasonal ingredients. A must-visit for anyone craving traditional soba at its finest!

First time going and we enjoyed the omakase. Really appreciated the level of service, details to the dishes, and the well crafted cocktails. We don’t live in Dallas but would happily return to try more off the menu.

As always, Tei An never disappoints. Their service and ambiance are in a class of their own. The menu has something for everyone. As exquisite as their food is, I felt we got great value for our meal. I would recommend Tei A for a date night or a special dinner with a friend. It’s truly a gem in the Dallas food scene.

No words can express how wonderful the Tei-An experience is. The food and service are world class. There isn’t a restaurant in Dallas that can compare to their level of culinary crafting. Dallas is lucky to have this masterpiece and I’d call it the best in the state.
