The theatre of food at Teatro is synonymous with a Italian marketplace. From delicious selection of Antipasti to Traditional Italian wood-fired pizza, and amazing Pasta dishes Teatro caters for all guests. Whether a quick dinner before a show at the arts centre, a wine or cocktail with the river view or a lunch before heading to the art gallery or the gardens of our beautiful city.
A fresh seasonal produce driven menu inspires our ever-changing Italian cuisine with plenty of vegetarian and Gluten Free options. The theatre itself remains constant, but the food and the menu are constantly evolving. Why not enjoy the stunning views of the Yarra River whilst indulging in some Chianti & dessert on Southbank Promenade.

Gee, this restaurant is great. We arrived 15 minutes early for the booking - no problem, seated immediately. Started with cocktails and olives. Everybody ordered pasta- my seafood linguine was delicious- as were my friends meals. The wine list was selective, and the by the glass section only missed having champagne on it…..the staff are all professional, polite and knowledgeable. Will I go back - of course. Would I recommend- absolutely

As always- the food was delicious and the service optimal! We dined outside, sun shining and with views to all the activity along the river. Highly recommend.

My friend and I had a meal before a show im Hamer Hall. The service was fast and the meal delicious so a nice start to a relaxing evening.

Delicious food. I was hoping to see some of the Tapas options that were a menu feature in days gone by. Service was outstanding with very personable and professional staff from welcoming, to service and paying the bill.

Food was great. Service was a bit ordinary. Very polite, however didn’t really understand our request and you had to wave a waiter down for drinks

We were rushed in a restaurant which was only half full. One of the wait staff tried to take away a plate of one of my guests who had not finished. But they left me sitting with dirty place when they cleared away the others. It took the shine off an otherwise good evening . We were only there an hour and half !!

What a lovely experience. Food was amazing quality, full of flavour, fresh and clearly all made from scratch, no pre prepared ingredients in sight. Service was speedy, professional and warm. Location is fantastic particularly for a pre theatre meal. Can't fault the place. Definitely will be retuning and recommending to family and friends.

I felt that the ravioli was too oily and quite small for the price it commanded. I had written on the reservation that it was a pre - theatre meal and the service needed to be quicker. I had to cancel the coffee order as it took too long and we would be late to show. The position and views are fabulous but food must be up to Southbank standards.
