Established in 2017, Téatro Bar & Restaurant is the sister business to the nationally recognised Barn Theatre, located nextdoor to Ingleside Hotel in Cirencester

We pride ourselves on offering a unique dining experience; offering quality, sourced produce formed into exquisite menus, alongside carefully crafted drinks, all served by our wonderful front of house staff.

Our stylishly designed restaurant and famous outdoor area, The Firepit, sit either side of our relaxing bar where live piano fills the air. Teatro is the ideal venue for any occasion; a birthday, pre theatre dinner, or a drink with friends.

This seems a nice space and ideal for a pre-theatre meal. My companion was pleased with her fig salad although to my eyes there wasn't much substance to it. I had beetroot risotto which was far too salty. The cubes of potato (in a risotto??) were a clue the restaurant knew this. They should have taken it off the menu. At least the theatre bar benefitted from my raging thirst.

My partner and I have eaten at Téatro twice now, both as pre theatre dinners (Stones in his Pockets and Room 13) which was confirmed on arrival. I booked the table for 6.pm each time; the shows started at 7.30. We thought this would allow plenty of time for a two course dinner. For the first booking, we arrived promptly at 6pm. Our drinks order was taken after a few minutes of sitting down and were served these quite quickly. Our order was taken, neither of us had starters and chose the pork belly for main which was very tasty and presented well. This took at least half an hour to arrive. Once finished, we were given the dessert menu. We had around half an hour before the show started so felt we had time and both chose the sticky toffee pudding - delicious!. This took a little while to be served and we just had enough time to pay and go through to the theatre (which is attached to the restaurant). For the second booking we were a few minutes late due to an accident (I called to let them know). We arrived at 5 past 6. As before, our drinks order was taken and we received these quickly. Our order was taken, again, we opted for no starter just a main, however, due to the wait last time, we ordered one portion of bread to tide us over until the main arrived. I ordered the chicken supreme and my partner ordered the beef burger. Both were presented and tasted lovely but, again, this took around half an hour to arrive. Once finished, we had no time for dessert. (If I can note: a couple who came in about 30mins after us, received their mains just after we received ours) Often, when we go out for dinner, the restaurant we are going to has a time limit of 90 mins - 2 hours for the sitting, hence, allowing 90mins at Teatro I felt was enough time for two courses. I wasn't advised that this is not long enough as a pre theatre dinner. The overall service we received was good and the food was really good and we would definitely recommend if it weren't for the wait.

The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. I will definitely be going back there another time.

Really lovely evening, superb trout, beautifully cooked pork belly. Delicious midweek meal.

We ordered fairly quickly at 6.05pm. Drinks took 25 mins to arrive. 1st courses both very poor, over seasoned fish soup with a closed mussel shell, tempura broccoli luke warm and soggy. Sent both back as inedible. 2nd courses - trout in lobster bisque sauce - way over cooked, sauce had a strange aftertaste, samphire tough. Sent both back. By this time it was 7.10pm and we had booked for the play next door at 7.30pm. We asked for bread and cheese as that is relatively safe and quick. The manager was courteous throughout and very apologetic and our two glasses of wine and the cheese platter were "on the house".

We really enjoyed our pre-theatre meal at Teatro. The food was excellent and staff attentive. We are going back next week for another show at the Barn theatre and will be dining there again beforehand.
