An ancient recipe comes back to life at Our Hillcrest Restaurant.
Tavola Nostra Pizzeria E Cucina is a full-service Italian restaurant and pizzeria bringing a modern touch to family recipes and an ancient style of pizza called, Pinsa.

Tavola Nostra, which means “our table”, is owned and operated by Jeff Oliveri – a first time restaurateur from a family of longtime restaurant owners who hopes to honor his familial heritage and tradition with his Italian dining concept that creates one of the best Hillcrest restaurants.

Transported to Italy. Calamari is the best any of us have ever had! Light and crispy. Caesar salad perfect. And, burrata flatbread delicious! Second visit.

We call this our "favorite Italian restaurant." Our friends often come with us and feel the same. It has a neighborhood feel, and the service is excellent. The food is outstanding. My only concern about giving this restaurant a glowing recommendation, which I'm doing, is that it will become so popular that it will be challenging to get a reservation. So far, it's all good!! I highly recommend it, and there's a large parking lot since it's in a shopping center with Ralph's, Trader Joe's, and others.

Tavola is a hidden gem in Hillcrest . We have enjoyed coming here for 5 years . The food is exquisite ! We’ve introduced several friends and family that now go there regularly. The owner Jeff, always ensures a personalized experience. Anything you order will be delicious. One of the best authentic Italian restaurants in San Diego!

A friend had recommended it. It was overall a big disappointment. Numerous food and drink items were not available despite being on the menu and wasn't disclosed till we ordered them. Server Tim A was often MIA. We had to search some 10 minutes to close out at the end. We ordered bread that he forgot to put in the order initially until reminded later. So instead of being an appetizer, it was served after the meal was served. Should have been comp by that point. Pastas were rather uninspiring. Lasagna was very light on the ragu beef and was more cheese lasagna than anything. The pasta marsala was bland and just ok. The grilled chicken add on was sparse. Overall, not a place that can be recommended.
