VIOLÍ was initially inspired by DineAmic Hospitality Partners David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff's travels throughout Greece, where they gained a deep appreciation for the natural Greek lifestyle. Following their journey, the hospitality group opened LÝRA in West Loop's Fulton Market and now brings the flavors of Greek cuisine, along with world-renowned Chef Partner Athinagoras Kostakos, to the Western Suburbs with VIOLÍ, located in Oakbrook.

First time trying the restaurant. Went to celebrate my birthday and my date’s birthday. The restaurant is beautiful. It was pretty busy when we got there. We went in a Saturday. Our waiter, didn’t get his name. We did feel like we were forgotten about most of the evening there. Even though we did not to the restaurant beforehand we were celebrating a birthday. Our appetizers were good. My date had the grilled octopus and I had the fried calamari. However when we were supposed to get our entrees, I end up only getting my dinner and his main course didn’t come out until way later. The waiter didn’t write it down and my date was pretty frustrated when we were trying to flag other workers to get our waiter. My date did finally get his food which he did love. I would try the restaurant again on a day no so busy because it is truly a beautiful restaurant and serves good food. The service would ideally turn me away from coming back to this restaurant but I’ll give it another chance. Hopefully our waiter just had a flook moment and it’s not something that is continuously practice here amongst staff.

Food was good, service attentive. But way overpriced, especially wine/drinks. Will not return.

This is our first time at the restaurant. It was a nice change of pace from the usual that we eat in Oak Brook center. Great cocktail and wine menu! Our in-laws loved their scallops and chicken dishes. We are vegetarian. We purchased spanakopita appetizer, which I wish had been a little bit bigger, salad, mushrooms, and greek french fries. All of it was lovely. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with prosecco and a dessert which was spectacular! We had coffee and the in-laws had additional desserts. This was a great dining experience. My only request would be to make an entree that was vegetarian friendly.

The food, service, and ambiance was excellent. However the prices for food and especially drinks outlandish. So much so that this fine restaurant is now out of our price range. For now we do not plan to return.

Loved our experience at this fun hip restaurant and our server was very attentive to our semi-large group. Not from the local area we appreciated what seemed to be fresh and authentic Greek food. The Halibut was cooked perfectly and delicious. Would recommend.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. The meal was fabulous. Particularly loved the Bougatsa dessert! Overall a great experience.

There were some dishes that were exceptional like the Moussaka. Perfectly seasoned. Huge portion. One of the best things I’ve eaten ever. The octopus was extremely tasty as well. But for 28$ the portion wasn’t worth it. Meatballs were tasty as well. The scallops could have used more char and I didn’t care for the almond pesto that accompanied it.
