VIOLÍ was initially inspired by DineAmic Hospitality Partners David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff's travels throughout Greece, where they gained a deep appreciation for the natural Greek lifestyle. Following their journey, the hospitality group opened LÝRA in West Loop's Fulton Market and now brings the flavors of Greek cuisine, along with world-renowned Chef Partner Athinagoras Kostakos, to the Western Suburbs with VIOLÍ, located in Oakbrook.

everything we ordered from appetizer to main course was delicious. our server, Ashley was very nice, aattentive and recommended drinks and shared her favorite dishes. i would not go there on a weekly basis because of the price but definitely for special occasions,

An energetic atmosphere with loud music, tight spacing between tables on the inside dining area, low lighting on the outside patio area, and very few restroom facilities. It reminds me of those bars and restaurants for young people, to go to see and be seen. It is not a place for people with disabilities or mobility issues. Only one restroom each for men and women. There are 3 stalls (2 of which are airplane size) for women and 1 for men, so there is a wait on busy nights. To get there one has to navigate through some tight spaces between the seats around the bar and the high-top tables within the bar. The floors in the restroom were slippery when wet. The enclosed patio area allows for more room between tables and is supposed to be heated. It was not heated on the Sat. night we were there, and we were cold. The lighting was dim so it was difficult to read the menus. The noise level was high due to the loud music coming from the bar on the one side, and the sport cars in the valet parking area on the other side. The menu is modern Greek, with some interesting changes. For example, the village salad was made with multi colored tomatoes and had green beans in it, and the fried calamari was dusted with what looked like paprika. The food was all very good. The only complaint regarding the food was the use of a lot of salt, and the side dishes of lemon potatoes and broccolini were over cooked, evidenced by the hard skin on the potatoes and the dried up florets on the broccolini. This was a return visit to this restaurant from a prior visit when they first opened. Our experience was pretty much the same between the 2 visits. As an older diner, we probably won't dine here again.

We really enjoyed our entire dining experience at Violi. We started with the grilled octopus, which was very good and then split the bronzino for dinner. It was delicious. One of the best we've had anywhere. The desserts were also very good. We highly recommend Violi!
