VIOLÍ was initially inspired by DineAmic Hospitality Partners, David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff's, travels throughout Greece, where they acquired a newfound appreciation for the natural Greek lifestyle. Following their trip, the hospitality group opened LÝRA in West Loop's Fulton Market neighborhood and now brings the Greek Cuisine and world renowned superstar Chef Partner Athinagoras Kostakos to the Western Suburbs.

Food was excellent ,we no longer go to the Greek Island restaurant.appetizers enough for sharing, lamb shank great ,wines and cocktails good ,service excellent!!!!

This is a fantastic establishment. From host to manager to wait staff. The food was excellent. Top of line everything.

I loved the original gyro dish that was served and pretty much the only reason I came to the restaurant. They now serve a very small version and not worth the $ for such a small dish.

Amazing atmosphere, the food was delicious. We had the Lamb chops and Chicken Souvlaki and both were amazing and cooked perfectly.

Hostess was rude. I made reservation for inside and had asked for somewhere quiet since I know it can get loud. We arrived 10 minutes early and she asked us to wait, fine. It then was our reservation time and we hadn’t been talked to yet so I asked a different host and they acted like they didn’t know we had been waiting, asked for my name again and then told me to wait more. They then gave me an option for an outside table or a bar top, I had requested inside in the dining area on my reservation with the note about a quiet place. I told them this and was told my reservation was just a “general” reservation, and then she snidely said well actually it says somewhere quiet so outside is more quiet. Okay?? So if you knew that’s what I wanted why offer anything else. They then tried to seat us on an awkward shaped aisle table where there was lots of people walking by, i was trying to have a romantic date hence the quiet request. I pointed at an empty table and asked for that one and the host said let me check, and never came back. The server then started talking to us so we just had to sit down at that point. 5 minutes after we had sat and ordered I see the host separate the 4 top I had pointed into two tables, and seated another couple there?? This was all pretty annoying experience considering I had to reserve with my credit card and reserved well ahead of time. I always love the food and atmosphere here but wasn’t happy this time with the seating situation.

I took clients here to celebrate. Our waiter was fantastic and the food was amazing. We especially liked the smoked Old Fashioned and the appetizer with dips. My clients can’t wait to come back. We didn’t have room for dessert.

Food was good and so was the service. The calamari was especially tender and tasty. We were celebrating a birthday and they brought a nice dessert with a big beautiful sparkler on it. That was pretty exciting!
