I made a reservation in advance to celebrate my daughter’s Sweet 16 with a party of three. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that our table was not ready, citing poor weather conditions as the reason for their overbooking. After waiting approximately 40 minutes, we were seated at a two-person table. I immediately expressed that this was unacceptable as the table was too small for us to comfortably enjoy our meal. I requested assistance from a manager, who agreed to move us to a more suitable table. However, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes for a large party to vacate their table before we could finally be seated properly. The restaurant did comp our appetizer and a round of drinks, which was a nice gesture. However, the situation felt entirely avoidable and left us frustrated during what was supposed to be a celebratory evening. While our server was kind and attentive, the food itself was average—not the exceptional quality I had hoped for. Additionally, it was evident that the hosts and waitstaff were more engaged in interpersonal conversations (in Spanish) than focusing on seating and serving guests efficiently. Overall, I left disappointed and feeling like there are better places to spend my money. This experience detracted from a special occasion we had looked forward to celebrating.

We always enjoy our experience at Taverna. The service is consistently good as well as the food. The atmosphere feels special.

We enjoyed ourselves at brunch today. Everything was tasty and our server Mia was on top of it. Love the relaxed vibe and ambiance.

Taverna is a good, casual restaurant to have a drink and spend some time. The food, while visually appealing, was not particularly flavorful. The menu is very similar to North Italia. We started with some mixed drinks which were very good. The squash zucchini chips were mostly breading. The focaccia with prosciutto was slightly better. The appearance is like a round pizza with a very hard crisp crust with a. Burnt Parmesan taste. Be careful when you bite that you don’t break your teeth. For our entrees, the branzino was a small flavorless portion served in a giant pan. The seafood pasta was average and the gluten free pizza was not good. Overall, most of the food was uneaten and we ate again when we returned home. The service however was very good.

Food was mushy. I was told that they had been spaghetti, but my plate came out with thick spaghetti. Then I asked to replace it with spaghetti and they said they didn’t have any but they only had one kind!

Service was awful. My husband’s drink was never refilled. No one checked on us. His pasta was lukewarm and came out 10 minutes before my salad, which was strangely spicy. There are way better Italian restaurants in Austin. We will not return.
