La brasserie Tavern On Rush est un steakhouse contemporain proposant un vaste menu de plats américains classiques, dont les steaks de qualité USDA primés et vieillis, des côtelettes, des fruits de mer, des pizzas, des hamburgers, des pâtes, des plats du jour uniques et bien plus encore. La brasserie Tavern est munie d'un bar et d'un salon animés où un producteur de musique vous fera bénéficier d'une playlist énergique et branchée 7 nuits par semaine. L'atmosphère chaleureuse et accueillante est renforcée avec un présentoir à bouteilles en forme de fer à cheval, des éléments en bois d'acajou, des nappes en lin, un service exceptionnel ainsi que de grandes fenêtres offrant une vue panoramique sur la rue animée Rush Street. Aménagé à l'extérieur, le café patio de la brasserie Tavern a été élu « Meilleur lieu pour un repas en plein air » par le Chicago Scene Magazine. We decided to give the new location a try this weekend for Sunday brunch and sadly it did not live up to its history. While our server Charles was very accommodating, wait time for drinks and food were unacceptable and the meal itself lacked any flavor or points of differentiation. I ordered the avocado toast which lacked both the lime juice and seasoning salt advertised on the menu. My husband had the steak sandwich which came out bland, tough and tasteless. The fries were equally unimpressive; not crisp and lacking any seasoning. Overall we had high hopes for this new locale. The decor is very nice and I have a feeling it’s just a matter of getting the kinks out but for now I would take a pass on this place.

Was excited to try one of our old favorites. Food was bland, took 15 min to get salt and pepper for buttered noodles for the kids (which they charged almost $30), forgot the bread service, cake dessert tasted like it had been sitting in the refrigerator all week. Overall, not what we were expecting based on previous dining experiences at Tavern on Rush. Maybe they are still working out the kinks from reopening.

It took 40 minutes to get our appetizer. After specifically requesting that the entree not come at the same time, it came they removed it, re-served the same entree, took that back, brought a new entree. I was extremely excited that Tavern on Rush was making a comeback. I thought it would be the old Tavern On Rush….elevated bar food with a great atmosphere…instead it is yet another over priced steak house, more hype than quality.

Somewhat disappointed. Initially, service was excellent. However, as the restaurant filled up, service deteriorated somewhat. For example, the kale/apple salad was served with the entree; waiter didn't ask if that was what we wanted. Consequently, there was no room on the table to accommodate the enormous salad bowls and the entrees. I didn't eat my salad because I don't like to eat salad with my entree and had no room to do so anyway. My husband dumped the salad in his bowl to make room. The prime NY strip was just lukewarm. The baked potato was still hard, not completely baked. The bar is deficient. They made the wrong Aperol drink; hubby requested an Aperol spritz but got a mango Aperol sour instead. Bar was unable to make brandy Alexanders for after dinner drinks. The Black Russians we ordered instead were barely OK, better can be had at local bars or other restaurants. Finally, this place is really noisy. I mean LOUD. We were on the second floor, which has a better view, but we got the noise not just from the second floor, but coming up from the first floor and the bar too. Not the place if you enjoy conversation. One last thing: the restrooms are a hike! We won't be back any time soon, and if we go back, it won't be on a Saturday night.

Gave this place another chance, it was just as disappointing as the first time, possibly even worse actually. It’ll just never be the same experience like the old tavern on rush unfortunately. So sad.

Enjoyed the location, ambiance, and food very much. The wait staff assigned to our table were inexperienced and there was some language barrier (one of our table asked for a side of sausage and was brought hot sauce). This did not seem true of some of the wait staff we saw at other tables. Hopefully the issues with the wait staff will be resolved soon and everyone can enjoy the full experience.

Joe was our waiter and he was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend asking for Joe, and I definitely will be next time I go in. He knew exactly what the best items on the menu were, and his recommendations for what to order were spot on.
