At Millpond Gatherings, we are an all-encompassing hospitality center where you can eat, celebrate, shop, and stay with us here in the quaint town of Northford, Connecticut. The Millpond Steakhouse, run by Executive Chef Pedro Avila, is a farm-to-table modern American steakhouse with a fine dining flare. Our dry-aged grass-fed beef is sourced from our own cattle farm just 2 miles up the road and accompanied with local produce from our surrounding farmers. Downstairs in the Tavern we encompass the spirit of historic New England with a cozy laid back atmosphere.

Millpond Events is our venue hall located adjacent to the restaurant. This rustic charming space will harvest many special memories and celebrations.

We checked in with hostess upon our arrival. We had a 5pm reservation. She brought us to a high top table which we stated we didn’t want. We wanted to be seated at a regular table. She then stated the other tables were for upcoming reservations. We had to remind her that our reservation was at the exact moment. After her “checking” the table situation, we were seated at a regular table. Interestingly another regular table behind ours was empty when we were seated, remained that way during our meal, and was empty when we left.

Our main course took an hour to come out. We ended up wrapping it and leaving to get home to our dog. I will never go back…

Server had zero enthusiasm when greeting us. Didn't state her name until we got our check. Steak was served on top of the mashed potatoes, and the steak sauce was just a step up from ketchup. This restaurant does not serve any kind of Merlot wine. Broccoli was barely steamed and hard, might as well have been raw. London broil was cooked to order. Tried to overcharge us for the house wine during happy hour. This was our anniversary dinner and we won't be returning.

We sat in the Tavern on a Friday night and enjoyed music and a fire at a high top table. Elevated rustic. We ordered from the Steakhouse menu… 2 seasonal soups and a family style dry-aged porterhouse. Delicious! My husband picked up the bone. Decadent desserts and local drink offerings. Great night out!

We went out for a well deserved dinner. It’s been a while since we’ve gone out without the kids. I’ll say overall it was worth it. The food was amazing! Flavors were on point. The size of the dishes was worth the price. The appetizers were great as well. We liked the ambiance over looking the water with the ducks.. who were a bit noisy lol but that’s ok. We could hear each other talking. I will say the service was a little slow but nothing too crazy. We had extra time out. They book 1 1/2 hours for dinner and we were working that time frame. I don’t think we were ever waiting super long for anything. It’s more like someone sat down after us but the waitress took their order first. We noticed it but she came to us shortly after. We will definitely return to try other things off the menu. The short rib dumplings were amazing! I ordered the Brick Chicken dish which was super flavorful.. loved! My nan got the salmon dish and he loved it. Overall well worth it.

It was my first time eating here, the Tuna appetizer was delicious, and the smoked old fashioned was perfect.

Came from Central NY State to Northford - Durham area to visit family and they insisted we try this place before we left. Have to say we will probably visit much more often after eating at The Mill Pond. From the walk to the Restaurant from the parking lot you can just sense the history of this old Mill, converted to a Tavern sometime in the past, to its current use as Restaurant, Tavern, Party Venue & Brunch spot. We went on a Sunday, almost went for the Brunch early but decided on the Tavern Menu for Lunch. By the way, Brunch menu is really great, and only available on Sundays, so make sure you take a look. The lunch was great, service was super friendly and helpful. We had the Texas Chili & Brisket w/chips as an appetizer, and decided on burgers & steak bombers for the four of us. Everyone loved their selections and portion sizes were very substantial... you should not go away hungry from the Mill Pond or its your own fault. As we dined the place started to fill up, but you'd never know it. Spacious eating spaces, and a great layout around a three story center fireplace made you almost feel like you had your own room there. The decor is fantastic but the views of the well manicured grounds and pond were really the icing on the cake. Speaking of dessert, the selections on that menu were very different from most dessert options. We could have tried 2 or 3 that sounded great, but we're too full from the app & meal. Maybe next time. Seems like the Mill Pond Gathering is the BEST place around the Northford -Durham CT area. We've been to quite a few places over the years while visiting family and attending the Durham Fair, and this place is now at the top of a short list of places we regularly frequent when in town. Can't say enough about the staff here, they are ready to recommend the best specialty drink or what meal is their favorite. Always there to help, and they come back often to check on how your meal is going. Make sure you treat them well.

Myself and my wife really just wanted to go out for a good burger so we figured we would give them a try since we have not eaten there yet. We both ordered the Millpond Burger, they only give you 2 choices as far as temp ... "No Pink" or "Pink"... We both asked for as "Pink" as possible because we both like Medium Rare. Also ordered Calamari for an appetizer. Calamari came and was very over cooked .... barley edible. Burgers came out and they were beyond well done... I tried to eat it as I was very hungry but could only get about a 1/4 of it down.... wife did about half..... Told and showed the waitress and she just offered to take it off the bill and walked away, no offer to get something else or anything.... When she walked back by I told her to please not take off the bill and just bring to go boxes and the check... I would give the burgers to the dog.

It was our first time there and we’re pleasantly surprised as to how cozy and welcoming it was. The food was amazing and our waitress Susan was the best. Weill definitely be back and I am looking forward to trying your Sunday brunch
