Service was painfully slow, we watched our bartender pass by us more than 4 times over 15 minutes after being seated without even being greeted or told “I’ll be with you as soon as possible” it looked like a slop house with 0 bussing going on of all the surrounding bar tables and bar seats. It seemed management wasn’t helpful to the staff during this busy time (it didn’t seem busy at all but clearly, their staff to customer ratio was severely lacking) we got to hear numerous servers complain to management about the bar service for their tables, and even after it “slowed” down and the service didn’t improve. We had to over hear chit chat of her going on vacation the next day and this being the “last thing she had to do.” We had to ask for multiple things we needed more than twice, like a box and a check, never got water refills, sat with empty bar drinks and had to ask for those multiple times as well (we only had two each). Usually we are okay with lacking service when it is obviously busy or whatever extending circumstances but it was clear this was due mostly to just a lazy mindset and lack of care. Disappointing to spend almost $50 per person for that kind of service.

Hey Courtney, this is truly awful and embarrassing for me as a restaurant owner. I am mortified and so sorry for you all. We can't succeed as a business treating folks this way. We have had some folks out sick recently and have been stretched thin- but that doesn't excuse the behavior of not saying hello or chatting about vacations in front of you while not helping. I do want you to know we are doing some retraining and have everyone back from sick-leave now for a great holiday season. I'll personally be spending more time at this location to make sure we are giving the best possible service. I hope you'll join us again soon and see us much improved, Thanks, Liz

I wrote the reservation was for a birthday but no one knew that. Wish we had been seated in a more intimate table setting. We got the middle of the room table. I imagine it’s a typical assumption when two men are eating together. It was noisy. The food was ok but wish you had more gluten free options. Love the she crab but the only gluten free option was a frozen one. Why not just make everyone healthier with less inflammatory gluten served? Was ok but not great compared to previous experiences here.

Though several holiday parties were going on, our server, Alexis, did a phenomenal job in balancing her attention between all of her tables. Great energy! The kitchen & bar staffs were WORKIN'! Food and drinks were coming out in a very timely manner. As always, everything was delicious & portions were plentiful. One of our favorite restaurants in the greater Richmond area!

Few positives to report about that visit, which began with finding no on-site parking but rather searching for a place on the street, and walking. Ordered appetizers with mixed results - Brussels sprouts were fine; Crab-Spinach dip was bland. Had the famous SheCrab soup which was ordinary - not clear what all the promotion is about. Entrees were fine, if simple and unremarkable. At some point during the evening our waitperson disappeared; after 20+ minutes of waiting my spouse found her and requested the check. There was never an offer of desert, coffee, etc. It is difficult to understand the extreme positive reviews posted about Tarrant's West but we will not be returning for another round.

We went for Thanksgiving 2024. We’ve been for Thanksgiving a few times and enjoy it every time. This year our table ordered seafood and meatloaf vs the standard Thanksgiving meal. Everything was delicious but our daughter-in-law said the meatloaf was tasty but dry. However, Thanksgiving day is a very busy day and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be returning.

Great Thanksgiving dinner for $29.99 with very tender turkey and lots of sides. She crab soup was flavorful, also. I was too full for dessert, sadly. My dining partner, a vegetarian, had a wonderfully healthy salad bowl. Both of us took enough home for a second meal. A terrific Thanksgiving!
