Our experience was great because we were in no hurry. The service was a little slow but they appeared to be short-staffed for the lunch crowd because they had two large tables plus regular diners. The half salads were the perfect size for lunch and went well with a cup of soup. The reuben sandwich was also nice. We truly enjoyed the afternoon.

We went to Tarrants West about 2.5 years ago for a birthday celebration. At that visit, the food was just ok but the service was abysmal, I posted a very negative review and I vowed never to go back - it was That Bad. Fast forward through 2.5 years of people telling me to give it another try and wow, am so glad we did. Service and food were excellent - it felt like a different restaurant. Decor is eclectic and interesting. ALL staff were exceptional. The food was excellent but the staff made the meal. We had mixed drinks, a pizza, fish and chips and a nightly special, pot pie. No complaints about anything. Quality was good and we found prices fair. We also bought frozen soup to make at home later (that option was a nice touch). We didn't go to the bar but it was a good size and looked inviting. I've never been so happy to change my opinion. It was light when we arrived and parked in the side lot. It was dark when we left. That side of the lot remained dark because both high/large lights were out. This is an easy fix and I hope they do so soon.

My cousin and I tried the 3 cheese ravioli and were pleased with it. She had tea, I had coffee. Total about $60 before tip.

unfortunately it was not a great experience. We had made reservations in anticipation of a fun evening out for Restaurant week. The food choices were just okay, the she crab and butternut squash soups were the highlight. everything else was not the stellar food we are used to. We ordered a pumpkin pie that tasted as though it was frozen and defrosted - not much flavor. So sad that we can't recommend this location any longer.

We participated in the Richmond Restaurant Week menu. We felt the main entree was rather skimpy and also not very well cooked. Disappointing because any time I have eaten at Terrant's West the entrees were very well cooked, very proportionate to price and occasion. The appetizers and desserts were delicious. Service seemed lacking usual flair and attentive consideration of how to tend to placing things at the diners seating and taking away from the table.

The she-crabby soup and warm crab dip were amazing, the rest of the meal was not up to par. Service was quick and restaurant was very cute!

We made a 6:00 reservation on a Saturday to have dinner on the patio. Unfortunately, we discovered that the patio was set up for a wedding and not available. We tried sitting inside, but were sat right next to a room having an event……with only a curtain separating us. I then asked if it was still “Happy hour”, but apparently the happy hour was not offered to anyone at a table - only those sitting at the bar. The last straw was the high pitched screams coming from a child’s birthday party in another open area. We got up and left before anyone came to greet us - which was at least 5 minutes after being sat. We normally enjoy Tarrant’s downtown, and will continue going to that location. It seems like the Tarrant’s West location caters more to having multiple events than their regular customers.
