D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Legendary PBS television host and James Beard-nominated chef Mark Tarbell opened his namesake restaurant in 1994, and it’s still one of the city’s hottest reservations. A perfectly beautiful culinary Christmas Eve!! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The mussels, calamari, scallops, and chicken fennel pasta last night were some of the best dishes I've ever had there. Overall the food was spot on, the staff are all marvelous and the ambiance is always right!

Food and service were as good as ever. A beautiful place to go out for dinner on Christmas Eve or any time of year.

Tarbell's is a must on any foodies list. The menu has a lot of variety to choose from and everything is of excellent quality.

Mark Tarbel does not disappoint! We had the Sea Bass special,the bolognese and the tenderloin tips….all were so good that I wanted to lick my plate.

We sat at the beautiful curved bar and were “taken care” of by our bartendress. She guided us through the menu and our meals were a broad selection from the offerings and were OUTSTANDING. Shishito peppers, calamari, hamachi, George’s Bank Scallops and the Risotto and Wagyu Beef tips…a delicious and memorable dining experience! Thank you! Angus

Overall was a nice evening out. The food was great and consisted of grilled scallops, sea bass and some pasta. Nice wine and a great waiter. Our only complaint was it was booked heavy even on a Monday night and we clearly felt rushed at all steps. There was a mob waiting as we left after 90 min. I guess that’s the time you get! No lingering over a meal here.

Our waiter was OUTSTANDING. Food was also incredible. We had the filet, RIBBON PASTA!!, bolognese, mussels and the crudo. All incredible. The ribbon pasta was rich and decadent. Amazing flavor. Ambience wise - I wish there was a bit more space between the tables as it felt very noisy and the server couldn’t quite get to the table. It felt stuffy in this way and the experience would be elevated by having a touch more intimacy (not on top of the people dining next to you).

Our first time at Tarbell's and we'll be back! When I made the reservation, I requested a quiet table. Our table was ready on time, and we were given a lovely four-person table (for two people) at the far end of the dining room. The noise level was active, but in a good way; we could hear each other well. The food and service were excellent, which is what we would expect in a Michelin-starred restaurant (better than many!). Service was not rushed, and the wine list was extensive and reasonably priced.
