Tarantelli’s is located on Second Street, just one block from Front Street and in walking distance to the Cape Fear River. The restaurant and event venue is located in the historic district of downtown Wilmington. This lively area spans 230-plus blocks and is home to some of the best bars, restaurants, churches, architecture, and selection of fine art. There are several parking facilities nearby, but you can also reach Tarantelli's year round via horse drawn trolley and carriage, river taxi, trolley cars, or on foot.

The inspiration behind this restaurant was drawn from our grandfather, Anthony "Tony" Salvatore Tarantelli ("Papa") and our grandmother Mabel Tarantelli. Both Tony and Mabel believed that home cooked food brought family together. Our Papa's love for Italian food came from his father, Salvatore Tarantelli, who was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy in the province of L’Aquila. It is here that Tony began to appreciate Italian cuisine at its purest. Both Tony and Mabel were amazing cooks and deserve the credit for passing on many of our family recipes that we now have the pleasure and privilege to share with you.

The waitress, Kerry, was short and unenthusiastic towards our requests and questions. We ordered the Parmesan pasta wheel. The waitress did not showcase the specialty. Additionally, we basically paid $56 for two Small bowls of spaghetti with 4 meatballs, not the value expected. As a side note, the pasta did not have much Parmesan taste, despite the Parmesan wheel process. We asked to share a Caesar salad. The salad came to our table with no dressing, and then got charged $2 for splitting the salad in two bowls. The waitress did not ask us if we wanted one bill or to split the bill between the two parties. A very disappointing visit for the cost.

The spaghetti wheel was amazing! Literally cannot stop craving this. Best we've ever had.

Our table was ready on time. Waiter was not very enthusiastic or friendly. Appetizer of calamari was good especially the sauce. My husband and I both ordered the special surf and turf of filet and scallops. It was very well prepared but by the time it arrived it was lukewarm. Because it was NYE I didn’t complain. The biggest disappointment was the cocktails. I ordered the Old Fashion. It was so watered down, I could barely taste the bourbon. My friend ordered a Grey Goose martini and she questioned whether it was Grey Goose since it burned her throat. The waiter said he would pass on our concerns but nothing was done to rectify the issues. Not even a discount. Not impressed.

Great food and service! Pasta dishes are delicious and fresh. Generous portions and great value. Our server Gabriel was terrific!

Our first time here and it did not disappoint Friendly and efficient staff Warm cozy atmosphere Pasata with fruita de mare was delicious Veal Marsala also delicious, had wide variety of mushrooms Definitely worth trying

Food was ok. Service was terrible. We had to flag someone down at least once to ask about our order and I am a reasonably patient person (5pm dinner we didn’t leave until 7:30).

First experience…fabulous. Waitress offered great suggestions, very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Food was simply outstanding. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation and served piping hot. Atmosphere was pleasant, candles and tree lit which added to the ambiance. Will definitely be returning!
