Tarantelli’s is located on Second Street, just one block from Front Street and in walking distance to the Cape Fear River. The restaurant and event venue is located in the historic district of downtown Wilmington. This lively area spans 230-plus blocks and is home to some of the best bars, restaurants, churches, architecture, and selection of fine art. There are several parking facilities nearby, but you can also reach Tarantelli's year round via horse drawn trolley and carriage, river taxi, trolley cars, or on foot.

The inspiration behind this restaurant was drawn from our grandfather, Anthony "Tony" Salvatore Tarantelli ("Papa") and our grandmother Mabel Tarantelli. Both Tony and Mabel believed that home cooked food brought family together. Our Papa's love for Italian food came from his father, Salvatore Tarantelli, who was born in the Abruzzo region of Italy in the province of L’Aquila. It is here that Tony began to appreciate Italian cuisine at its purest. Both Tony and Mabel were amazing cooks and deserve the credit for passing on many of our family recipes that we now have the pleasure and privilege to share with you.

Our first experience with this restaurant was amazing. All aspects of the evening were flawless. Service was excellent and the food was great. We even received a happy anniversary dessert. Will definitely visit again.

We had a party of 4 and each ordered a different entree, and each meal was amazing. Our waitress Ericka was terrific and the entire dining experience was top notch. we have been there many times and have never been disappointed

We have waited a long time to try Tarantelli's and were not impressed. We were greeted well by the hostess and sat promptly. The waiter started off the evening poorly and never recovered. The rest of the staff seemed in a great mood and were moving about the restaurant in a good manner. Our waiter should find something else to do as he had a hard time getting from table to table and had to use a cheat sheet for everything. It took 20 minutes to get our first drink. We watched as other patrons had to stop the waiter to ask for service. We tried halfway through dinner just to get a small plate to discard our seafood peelings and it was impossible. Eventually we were able to get the attention of a nice bus person. The food was good but nothing great. We started off with the Calamari All’Insalata and it was good and the portion was very large. My wife ordered the Gnocchi Al Limone e Gamberi and was happy with it as it is not something she can make for herself. I order the Tarantelli's Frutti Di Mare and it was just okay again not bad but not great. I do not mind paying for a good meal but with one drink each an appetizer and two entries $145. with tip was a bit much for what we thought of it. This one may be a one and done. The atmosphere was nice.
