Well the food was just delicious. We loved everything we chose. We had scallops and beets with buratta and pesto (fantastic) for starters and sea bass with polenta and skirt steak which we subbed homemade fries to make our own steak frites. The Palestinian owners are cooking and serving. It’s a global fusion of sorts with the person in charge of drink creating from Mexico so great mescal drinks and fruit inspired sophisticated drinks on the menu that we really loved. The only complaint is that it is very loud and that makes it a bit of a struggle to hear each other. We really liked this place. It’s beautifully decorated as well. Simple and elegant. Make sure you go! It’s a happening so for sure you need a reservation.

Was hoping for a better experience at Tala. While the food was very good (albeit portions small), the service was slow and unfriendly, actually I might describe it as abrupt. The person showing us to our table forgot to give us a drink menu, so that slowed things down more. Our waiter had a chilly demeanor during the entire evening. The waiter’s help staff (bussers etc) seemed poorly trained. Not a single staff member was friendly or pleasant. The room was noisy and our table had freezing cold air blowing on us the entire time. Nobody noticed when we left after our meal. This restaurant has some things to work on.

A true new gem in an elegant indoor/outdoor setting. Excellent execution on scallops and a very tender skirt steak. Fine cocktail options, and a brief but efficient wine list. Very kind and generous attitude from the first greeting to the departing gratitude. Will return!

Fantastic restaurant!! Food was amazing! (Guac and veggies, burrata and beets, tuna entree) our waiter was wonderful and the owner greeted us and chatted with us. Perfect atmosphere! Definitely my new fav restaurant in Chicago!!

Wee loved this restaurant. The food and desserts were outstanding- the owner stopped by, and we sat on a lovely backyard patio

Tala House is a great new addition to the restaurant scene. Food is inventive, well-prepared and delicious. Love the modern takes on Mexican cuisine. Gorgeous restaurant. Lovely staff. Food was coursed well & came out quickly. Will definitely go back.

The ambiance outside was so perfect for our celebration. The food was outstanding and service was excellent. Carlos is the BEST!! Can’t wait to go back.
