I was really excited to try this place, it's in a great location and has a lot of potential. However....considering how small the space is, having a dj playing with CLUB level noise volume is wild for a restaurant. My friends and I had to read each other's lips and scream over the table to talk. Food: It's considered a sushi restaurant but the sushi was mid at best. Too much imitation crab on the menu for my personal taste. The plantains were the one standout item we got, they were nice. Drinks: One of the main cocktails was over twenty dollars just because they set it on fire and it's Instagram-worthy to film. The drinks were too complicated for my taste, a lot of crazy flavors and mixers. More straight forward options would be great. Service: We didn't get water when we were seated. The waiters had a hard time hearing us and vice versa because of the music. Some things came super quick and some things took a long time. Some of our waiters were kind, some were totally apathetic. Overall, I do understand that they are new so they are likely in a learning phase. But it seems like they made every decision to be viral, not exactly quality. Will try them again in a few months.

Great place! The food was really good and they have excellent service. Super fun with a live DJ.

We love everything about the restaurant from the entrance walking up the stairs to the decor and lighting inside was very romantic mood. Let me not forget about the food. We had the tostada and edamame appetizers and both were delicious. We then moved on to the rolls which were again delicious and very flavorful. We would definitely come back and try the other appetizers and rolls. Lastly, the servers were not short for an exceptional service. Thank you.

Sushi was poor quality, was not fresh. Long waiting time and we did not receive our appetizer. Staff was friendly/attentive and the atmosphere is nice.

The environment was amazing, very ig worthy. We waited for our food for 45 mins and when we got it, the fish and rice was soggy, we got the most expensive roll the xxx and it had no flavor, the wagyu Was very chewy . Every roll fell apart just from touching it, the rice was soggy as well. We did like the drinks but other then that it was very loud and dark and the took a long time for anything to come out.

It was way too loud with the music in the restaurant. The rolls were not good quality sushi and the special wasn’t accurate with what they gave me, only the top was correct the inside wasn’t correct. Fire cocktails was good but not worth the cost. This place was overpriced and just mid.

Great addition to the SD local scene! A vibrant sushi restaurant from the same minds of El Sueno and Tratorria Don Pietro in collaboration with their chef helming from Harney. The new addition to the Old Scene is a must on your list! The vibe starts the moment you see the sign. 🎧🍸🍣💁‍♂️
