Takito Street, a playful Mexican Street food joint with a playful, contemporary vibe is OPEN across from DePaul University in Lincoln Park. We offer artisanal street tacos made to order (handmade tortillas) and a variety of fresh fruit margaritas Takito restaurants are known for. A scratch kitchen, innovative bar program and a genuinely friendly staff make Takito Street a perfect addition to the DePaul University & Lincoln Park dining scene. Our small Chicago-bred restaurant group has successfully served over 600k guests.

Dinner + Latin Dance Experience

Enjoy a memorable dining experience feat. Modern Mexican Street Food in a vibrant/cozy atmosphere, followed by a FREE Latin Dance Class. The last reservation is at 8:15pm; the Latin Dance Class begins at 9:30pm. You entire will be allowed to join for FREE. It's a blast! Reservations required.

Follow you dinner experience with a complimentary (FREE) Latin Dance class - provided by the professionals at Latin Street Dance (25 yrs in Chicago). Takito Street offers a contemporary Modern Mexican Street Food experience in an energetic & cozy atmosphere. The last reservation is at 8:15pm; kitchen closes at 9pm. You'll then be invited to our dynamic Latin Dance class, followed by open dance until 1:30pm. It's a blast!

We really enjoyed our time at Takito Street. We tried, and loved, the carne asada, Al pastor, barbacoa, and shrimp tacos. My favorite margaritas are cucumber and pineapple Serrano chili. We also loved the Agua Fresca’s in the mango and strawberry flavors. Our server was awesome and they had great recommendations. We will return soon.

One of my favorite taco places. Would love to see some of the tacos from the other locations that closed make it to this menu.

Menu is very compact, focused mainly on tacos...but there was a lot of variety to be found. We had the shrimp tacos and the barbacoa (brisket) tacos. The shrimp were very light and flavorful, some fried onions provided a nice texture. The barbacoa were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and very rich. We also ordered the cilantro rice and chipotle beans, these were add-on options...those two items can also be ordered as sides so I'm assuming the add-on was just a smaller portion. Two regular classic margaritas completed the meal, and were half price for happy hour (currently Mon-Thurs 4pm-6pm). Really a nice, light dinner.

Food and drinks weren’t good. Had reservation for 7:30p. Didn’t get seated til 8p. Wasn’t busy at all. Would not recommend to anyone.

We were supposed to be seated outside according to our reservation but were told they didn’t have any open tables. So that was prettt annoying

Good food and excellent service. We ate inside because it was quieter than sitting next to the street. Big open windows made it very comfortable. The waitress was accommodating and attentive.

Menu is simple and creative! Food is delicious. We definitely loved the sishito peppers queso fundido! It is amazingly delicious! Margaritas are well worth! And the dancing lessons were so much fun!

What a great neighborhood restaurant! Service is friendly, tacos are varied and tasty, and the price leaves one thinking "this was a very good value."
