Here are the issues with dinner. Specifically asked for a nice table w a view for our anniversary. Host sat us in an empty section overlooking the roof of the area below patio blocking the ocean view. I asked to be sat at a different table and then put at a small two top where one has back to ocean. Asked if we could sit at the 4-top next to it she said no bc we were only 2. (Ps half of the patio was open the rest of the time we were there including this 4 top) The bar was crowded and where we sat was next to bar and about 10-15 very loud loud women surrounding the bar and frankly all around our table too. So it was a bit annoying and hard to enjoy the dinner Jorge was very sweet to offer Prosecco to celebrate the anniversary and night and we said sure. The water and Prosecco arrived quickly. We ordered tuna crispy rice and drinks as well. The tuna came out fast but we didn’t see Jorge or our drinks for about 10 min. He said he was sorry but was in pre-shift Not the end of the world but feel like something should have been said and/or someone else brought drinks. The crispy tuna was AMAZING. We ordered the miso soup as well and tbh it was soooo fishy we couldn’t eat it. Let Jorge know and he apologized and then a manger stopped by as well and apologized. Very nice and friendly manager. Angry chicken and surf n turf fried rice and wagyu crispy rice and kimchi all were amazing delicious. It all came out very fast and hot. The drinks were ok. One was strong and one was very sour. So we switched to beers. At the end Jorge surprised us w an ice cream sushi dessert as well. So unique and tasty When we got the bill we saw the Prosecco that seemed to have been complimentary was in fact $30/glass. So it was a bit annoying to have paid $60 for what we thought were for our anniversary. We would not have had if we knew Jorge was otherwise great and friendly and knowledgeable. Food was great. And would go back.

I have always enjoyed Takato but have not been there for about a year. The food was not as good as before

Always a treat to eat there. The service and food were excellent. Christine/host and Vo/ waiter always makes you feel special. The Australian ribeye and aged big eye fish weee incredible. Can’t wait til our next visit there ! Albert and Lisa

We had yet another amazing experience at Takato. We were lucky enough to be served by Mateo. We had an unforgettable experience once before when he served us. I had forgotten my reading glasses and embarrassing could not read the menu in front of a girl I just started to date. Mateo put his hand on my shoulder and said no worries I’ve got this. He literally ordered an array of many different items each one tasting better than the last for the most amazing experience we’ve ever had dining. On Friday night two years later with the same girl we were blessed enough the have Mateo again as our server. Even though I remembered my glasses we asked him to do his magic again. The experience was incredible. He came over each time a different plate would arrive to our table. He explained each dish in detail. Our drinks and water glasses never ran dry. He finished our evening with decaf cappuccinos and of course the ice cream roll. We cannot say enough about Mateo and his service. He clearly is amazing at his career and represents Takato as if he is an owner. The food is spectacular. The atmosphere incredible but Mateo seals the deal for us. We will be back again and again and hope others have the luck of Mateo being your server!!

Very busy night but service was good, food not as good as a previous visit. Japanese good but the Korean just a bit too sweet.

Food and service always excellent! I was disappointed in with my margarita, very boring no flavor or hint of Mezcal. I requested a Dirty Martini good olives but lacking in flavor of olive juice was not a Dirty Martini! I requested more olive juice however the young lady that was one of our servers never returned with the extra. The servers are very busy so I understand. Never disappointed we will be back!! 🎈
