Takai by Kashiba is a fine dining Edo-Mae style Sushi restaurant that specializes exclusively in nigiri sushi.
Sushi Counter is solely Chef's Omakase, seated at 5:30 and 7:30.
Omakase is also available at our dining room tables along with a la carte Sushi options.
We do not have vegan/vegetarian/kids menus available. We are able to accommodate most allergies.

Led by Chef Jun Takai, the Omakase consists of local and international seafood accompanied by Kaiseki style dishes. Takai by Kashiba creates an elegant atmosphere whether you're seated at a table or the intimate sushi bar.

Omakase style drink pairings are also available along with a thoughtful selection of Sake, Wine and Japanese Whisky.

My boyfriend and I loved our experience at Takai by Kashiba. We got the Omakase menu and it was delicious overall. One frustration for us is that the address listed on OpenTable is incorrect in the link. If you try to get to the restaurant using that link, it will take you to an alley next to a mall about a half mile away. I had to call the restaurant to get the correct address and as a result we were about 15 minutes late for our reservation. I hope OpenTable fixes this! It was stressful. Back to the restaurant itself! The food was delicious and felt satisfying. It was about 10 courses and since it was a mix of sushi, sashimi and hot dishes, i felt full by the end. Lots of these types of places sometimes serve one or two pieces of sushi per course. Not the case here. We enjoyed full plates of nigiri, tempura dishes, savory custard, tofu/noodle soup, dessert and more. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. My favorites were the toro hand roll, and an amazing plate of nigiri that included geoduck with yuzu. Some things that could have been better: The ikura and the anaebi did not taste very fresh. For the price we paid, I expected fresher tasting ikura (non “fishy”) and the amaebi tasted very bitter. Minor stuff, and definitely not dealbreakers for me but slightly disappointing considering I had ikura at their other location in Seattle and tasted so clean and oceany. We also got the tea pairing and our last one did not arrive which we realized after we got home. Other than that, marvelous time out! Definitely recommend for a special occasion

Wonderful omakase experience. Highly recommend counter seating. Chef Jun Takai is masterful and a wonderful person. The courses were absolutely amazing. The aged pieces were such a delicious experience

As always, unparalleled in quality of fish, service and overall experience. Had the seasonal pine mushroom soup and it was a religious experience.

Comparable to the top places in Tokyo. Thankfully, no americanized sushi fusion rolls here. True fine dining for real sushi enthusiasts.
