Welcome to Tahona! We are the first mezcal bar and tasting room in San Diego. In our restaurant, we invite you to taste our incredible craft cocktails and our amazing contemporary Mexican cuisine featuring Oaxacan bites. In our tasting room, we welcome you to indulge on a mezcal tasting experience!

We are located next one of the most iconic historical landmark: the Campo Santo Cemetery in Old Town. Inside Tahona, you will be transported to a modern Mexican hacienda designed with hand painted tiles, handmade rope seats, traditionally crafted fabric brought from Oaxaca, hand clayed walls and more.

We also have a cozy covered outdoor patio dining experience so you will have the choice to dine inside our hacienda or on the streets of Old Town!

The Dixeebe Mezcal project is rooted in gratitude, as the word Dixeebe itself means "to give thanks" in Zapotec. I do miss the sirloin tacos. They took it off the menu, but everything else was as good as always.

The agave tasting with Jaime was excellent! Very informative and the mezcals were fabulous. Our post tasting meal was delicious. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I had a lovely dinner at Tahona. The owner was very accommodating and made sure we had a great time. The food and beverages was very tasteful and well presented. If you enjoy Mezcal, this is definitely a great experience, as there are plenty of options. Cheers!!

The gal who seated us and our waitress were not friendly at all. We were surprised. The food was not as good as we had expected and portions were tiny!

$10 (sometimes more) for tacos is on the pricy side. On the contrary, food was immaculate. Quality was amazing. Our waiter waited on maybe 8 to 10 tables, she did well. Not the best.

Great experience. Amazing additive free mezcal and tequila selection, delicious food, awesome customer service and the ambience and live music where perfect. Definitely coming back here! The $95 deal for two was the perfect option for my wife and I.
