October 16, 1909-For the first time in their country’s history, American President William H. Taft and Mexican President Porfirio Díaz met for a summit in the El Paso-Juarez border; the land commonly known as El Chamizal. Flags were lowered and the borderland remained neutral territory.

A traditional, conservative luncheon was hosted by President Taft at the El Paso Chamber of Commerce followed by an opulent dinner served and presented by President Díaz in the Old Federal Customs building in Juarez. Private discussions were had and agreements were made.

TAFT DÍAZ serves as a testament that great things can flourish when you welcome others at your table.

Excellent service , food was tasty and reasonable, ambience excellent noise level was good but only a few people were present. If more it would be very noisy!

I am a regular traveler and user of the culinary delights of Taft Diaz/stanton house. Leslie, Desiree, and Alex make my mornings full of smiles and top notch food/service. Having business corn and truffle soup is also amazing with Oscar. Thanks to the team for hosting parties and secret things soon ;)

We had an AMAZING early dinner at Taft Diaz! Desiree had great recommendations for food and wine and even informed us of an oyster deal that we didn’t know about! She recommended the duck, Mexican butter (top knotch bone marrow) and a few other things that were all delicious. Those two stood out as some of the best I’ve ever had! Desiree helped us pair every course with the perfect drinks as well! We ate here right after driving from Houston to El Paso, so it was wonderful to have great food, great service, and somebody with great taste to recommend the best dishes!

Please keep the Jazz! Wow. We had a wonderful experience. It would be great to have creative mocktails on the menu. Not enough options s in EP. We’ll be back to check back in.😀

Sometimes you just need to celebrate with either corn and truffle soup or green pea soup as a starter, with friends that are family, and have a palate cleanser with delicious summer organic Rosé from Austria. Very romantic, but also perfect for some business lunch or breakfast/coffee and sweets like mango sorbet. Gracias to the Executive and Sous Chefs and their team. And the servers, hosts, and front desk staff. Thanks to all the cleaning and mechanical professionals because in the years I have been enjoying this space I haven’t had literally any problems. Truly love being taken care of by the endless amazing people at this property that is my home away from home and a place to relax, get work done, and celebrate memories such as getting advanced degrees/awards and… who doesn’t want a massage and gourmand experience on the same day after work. Thank you to morning crew to the secrets and gems of this fantastic property including Blush.
