The food was a disappointment. Pork bellies were not crispy. The jalapenos and chicken tenders were okay. Sauces were good. Service was very good.

Mashed potato’s were amazing. Herb chicken was good. Cheeseburger Mac was dry. First time chicken wings were undercooked. Probably wouldn’t go back.

The wedge salad was a little short on the dressing. But our server took care of it.

A couple swings and a hit and a miss. Early (5:30pm) on a Friday night. Cocktails fine but a little pricey. Deviled eggs and artichoke dip good, but not great (flavors not pushed; however pita with dip very good). Ordered beet salad, beets chopped to practically microscopic, not enough of them, drowned in dressing (my bad for not getting on the side), goodly amount of greens. Ordered the Poutine; literally 30 seconds before salad and companion's serviceable burger were delivered to the table, our server, Anthony, announced they had run out of gravy (?!) so no Poutine, did I want anything else? (You didn't find this out when you put the order in?) Since I hadn't memorized their menu, had to ask for one (?!). Ordered truffle fries, which never came. They were busy but not crazed. OK food, comfortable interior, but will not make a bee-line to return. Plenty of gastro-pub food to choose from these days.

Overall, ambience was nice and food was good. We enjoyed all 3 food items we ordered. We felt the server was a bit eager for us to settle tab. Maybe his shift ended. However, the restaurant was not crowded so didn’t seem like the table was needed.

I do not fault the server, as he was friendly and very capable. Food delivery took over an hour. Clearly they were short staffed in the kitchen on a Sunday night. We waited over an hour for delivery of our food. The restaurant did comp us two free deserts (there were six of us dining). Taffer's must do something to remedy this problem. The long wait for food was really unacceptable. Again, no fault of the server as he did his best to make things work and deserves a shout out for keeping us informed of the situation.
